When you are done dragging the mouse and release the mouse button, the changes will take effect for today only. For example, if you were coming home from the office at 2 PM instead of 5 PM, you would click the transition at 5 PM and drag it towards the left to 2 PM. Similarly, if you wanted to change the temperature for any of today s Activities - for example if you wanted it to be warmer during your sleep, you would click the top of the Sleep bar and drag upwards.
Personal Web Portal Comfort Tab About the Sensors view The Sensors view shows you any additional temperature and humidity sens ors you have connected to your ecobee About the vacation view The Vacation Calendar lets you conserve energy while you are away on vacation or other trips. To use the vacation calendar, select the days you plan to be away by clicking and dragging your cursor across the calendar. In the resulting Vacation dialog box you can: 1. In the Vacation Settings dialog box, uncheck the Optimize my settings for me radio button and edit the settings for your Heat setpoint, Cool setpoint and fan. Click OK when you are done. If you have smart plugs installed, during a vacation event you can decide how you want those devices to function for the duration of your vacation. You can choose to: Keep On: turns the device on at the start of the vacation and turns it off at the end of the vacation. If the device is normally running a program it will revert back to that program when the vacation is over. Keep Off: turns the device off at the start of the vacation and turns it on at the end of the vacation. If the device is normally running a program it will revert back to that program when the vacation is over. Follow program: if this option is selected the device will follow its normal program and will not behave differently during this vacation. If you programmed the device to Follow Thermostat schedule, it will follow your normal thermostat schedule. About the weather view The Weather view shows you the local weather for your region. You can set your location for weather purposes in My House.
Personal Web Portal Settings Tab About the my house view The purpose of the My House view is to collect data about your house so that you can easily and reasonably accurately compare your home s performance with that of similar houses in your geography. Your home location is also important for ensuring that we provide you with the right weather data. Note that some of the algorithms rely on weather information to make intelligent choices so it is important that you locate your house within a few miles of your actual location if you do not want to be specific about your location. Click the Location tab to enter the address for your home. You can change your home location by entering address information and clicking on the Update button. Click the Characteristics tab to enter additional information about your house that will help in making energy use comparisons with other homes. Note that whenever comparisons are made, all data is aggregated and in no circumstances will specific data about your home be released to anyone other than you. About the password view This widget will allow you to reset your current ecobee account password. This is the password you would use to login to your ecobee account.
Personal Web Portal Settings Tab About the preferences view: Preferences The Preferences section allows you to specify various personal preferences on your thermostat. If you have more than one thermostat, you can assign a name to each one. For each thermostat you can select the format to display temperature and time as well as the sound and backlighting levels. You can also configure how you want the thermostat to behave when you manually adjust the set temperature (ie Hold mode). Hold for 4 hours: the system will revert back to the program after 4 hours Until Next Transition: the system will revert back on the next scheduled transition Indefinite: the system will revert back to the program only once you press the Resume button Update Program: if this option is selected, when you adjust the set temperature, the system will reprogram the temperature for the activity you are currently in Ask Me: if this option is chosen, every time you adjust the set temperature you will be asked which of the above options you would like to choose Quick Save heat and cool adjustment: when Quick Save is activated, the thermostat will be set back (in heating mode) or set forward (in cooling mode) by the number of degrees specified here. Heat and Cool Set Temp Ranges: this feature will allow you to configure limits on the heat set point temperature and/or cool set point temperature on the thermostat. Enable preheating/precooling: this feature allow you to enable or disable the preheating and precooling function. For example, your Home period set temperature is 72F and that period is scheduled to start at 5pm. With this feature disabled, the thermostat will attempt to match that set point starting at 5pm. With the feature enabled, the thermostat will start heating or cooling at a predetermined time before 5pm to ensure the current temperature is 72F at 5pm.
Personal Web Portal Settings Tab About the preferences view: Groups If you have more than one thermostat registered to this account, you can group them together. Adjustments made on one thermostat are then made to ALL thermostats in that group. The section will allow you to determine which features within a specific group are synchronized. For example if you select Synchronize User Preferences, when you configure any user preference on one thermostat (i.e. choose Celsius vs Fahrenheit) ALL thermostats within that group will change to Celsius. To configure a group, simply select a thermostat that is currently assigned to that group. You can choose the thermostat from the drop down list located on the top right of the web portal. About the preferences view: Access Control This feature lets you set an access code for the thermostat. To enable an access code, simply enter a 4 digit number in the space provided. To disable this feature, simply delete the number. This section will also allow you to select which feature will require an access code on the thermostat. Restricting All access will allow the user to simply view the temperature and weather on the thermostat. In all cases when an access code is enabled, a user will be prompted to enter the code to access any of the options within the Setting menu (except the About menu). About the group view This section will allow you to group two or more thermostats registered to this account. You can create more than one group, but a thermostat can only be assigned to one group at a time. Once assigned to a group adjustments made on one thermostat, will be made to all thermostats assigned to that group. You can also determine which features are linked within each group by selecting the Group tab in the Preference widget.
Personal Web Portal Settings Tab About sending an alert With this widget you can send a custom message to your thermostat. Enter your message in the space provided and press the submit button. The message will be display on your ecobee Smart Thermostat touch screen. If you chose to enable sound for alerts, when this message is displayed the thermostat will also provide an audible indication that a message is present. Messages can only be sent to one thermostat at a time. About the reminders view The Reminders section allows you to set when you get notified for various events (for example regular furnace and air conditioner maintenance) as well as which reminders you want to be sent to you by . For each reminder, use the drop down box to select when you would like to be notified for that reminder. By default, reminders are displayed on the thermostat screen. Click thenotify Me check box if you would like to receive an and/or Notify HVAC technician if you want to send the reminder to your HVAC technician (your technician would need to program an address for this option to function.) Certain reminders are considered alarms (for example a cold temperature alarm) and cannot be disabled.
