Design an experiment to answer the following research question: Is there a difference in safety between bottled water and unfiltered tap water? Be sure to indicate what you are comparing, how you will measure it, and how you know that your results are reliable. 13 Two teams of doctors were testing the effectiveness of a new drug for the common cold. They compared patients who took the drug to patients who took a sugar pill, to see if the drug cured the cold faster. The first team of doctors found 50 patients that had contracted the common cold. They randomly gave the drug to 25 of the patients and gave a sugar pill to the other 25 patients. There was no difference between the two groups in the amount of time before patients were cured. It took an average of 3 days for each group to be cured. The second team of doctors found 500 patients that had contracted the common cold. They randomly gave the drug to 250 of the patients and gave a sugar pill to the other 250 patients. They found that patients who took the drug were cured faster than patients who took the sugar pill. It took an average of 2 days for the group that took the drug to be cured, and an average of 3 days for the group that took the sugar pill to be cured. Which team s results are more accurate?
