2 Flamco offers you a wide choice of expansion vessels for potable water Airfix are specially constructed incorporating a flow through design that regularly rinses the vessel with fresh mains water. By specifying Airfix you can be assured of clean water. AIRFIX A The Airfix A expansion vessel enlarged here is supplied with a flow divider. This flow divider can be fitted between a T-piece and the Airfix A vessel (T-piece not supplied with the vessel). The Airfix A expansion vessel and T-piece can be fitted in the cold-water system of the boiler and flow through is established. USER ADVANTAGES AIRFIX A Very easy to fit. Covered inside and out with an anti-corrosion coating. The water is not contaminated by the material of construction and has been CE and WRAS approved. Can be used with any storage water heater or pressure boosting system. 4.2

3 AIRFIX D AIRFIX D-E AIRFIX D-E-B Airfix D-E Pressure expansion vessels with exchangeable diaphragms, suitable for use in hot-water, water-booster and watermanagement systems. The Airfix D-E is a floor standing and easy to install unit. Featuring a flow-through vessel with two flange connections which has an exchangeable butyl diaphragm. Airfix D-E vessels are fitted as standard with an electronic diaphragm-rupture sensor. USER ADVANTAGES AIRFIX D-E Complete flow-through from the vessel, with a choice of flow direction. Low pressure loss. The diaphragm-rupture sensor can be configured for remote reading. Simple installation and long service life. The Airfix D-E diaphragms come with a WRAS certificate. With the flow-through design they are the best choice. Ensure that the double system connection is directly connected with the main flow in the drinking water installation. 4.3

4 Airfix technology offers the user significant On unvented potable applications an expansion vessel is required to take up thermal expansion. Only Airfix can offer partial (Airfix A) or full flow through designs (Airfix D) that guarantee no stagnant water in your installation. AIRFIX D Airfix A and Airfix D vessels are white in colour. Both diaphragm and vessel coating are internationally approved for use in combination with drinking water, meeting the CE standards (2002/16/EC) and WRAS approved. The unique clench ring design damages neither the diaphragm nor the two halves of the vessel. Airfix D vessels use a special T-piece (supplied) which directs water flow through with its internal divider to ensure full flow-through in the vessel. AirfixControl (not supplied) optional. The vessel pre-charge must be 0.2 bar lower than the pressure on the downstream side of the pressure-reducing valve. 5 advantages The Airfix D-E expansion vessel can be used in pressure boosting systems, on either the intake or compression sides of the pumps. These installations are intended to overcome excessively low supply pressure and help prevent excessive pressure changes at low flow speeds. Maximum working pressure typically 10 bar(g), conforming to the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC and WRAS approved up to 500 litres. Airfix P Airfix D-E-B For pressure boosting, drinking water, processing or fireextinguishing installations. Single steel threaded connection (without flow-through function). Airfix D-E Double system connection. The contoured design allows for greater strength at the supported ends of the diaphragm, providing an extended life and highly efficient vessel. The pre-charge is nitrogen gas and is used for its low permeability across the EPDM diaphragm. 4.5
