1 Pinsetter Tune-Up Worksheet Instructions The goal of this inspection and accompanying paperwork is to gather information about the pinsetter so that priorities can be set for future repairs. This inspection should usually be accomplished on an annual basis. You will find in the paperwork a page with a breakdown of assemblies of the pinsetter. Within this list is another breakdown of these assemblies into smaller sections. Our goal is to look at each of these sections and look for possible discrepancies that should be taken care of. You should look at these sections and be sure that you cover every possible item within that section. Ask yourself if what you see will cause customer inconveniences before the next time you perform this same inspection. If you believe that there may be customer inconveniences because of what you see, you should record the possible issue on attachment A. When you have completed the inspection, you will have a list of discrepancies that can now be reviewed, prioritized and then repaired as needed. This inspection is to inform the FM of the repairs that are needed on the pinsetter so that the biggest bang for the buck can be obtained. Begin by creating a three ring binder with a cover page for the center. This cover page should have all of the lane numbers across the top of the form. For larger centers, extra pages can be added for the cover pages. These specially numbered pages can be obtained from Center Manuals under Technical Services. This page(s) will cover the upcoming cycle of inspections. Next, create tab sheets for each individual lane with a 16 column cover page at the front of each tab. These will act as worksheets for the individual pinsetter and will hold information for the next 16 years. As each lane is inspected, the attachments should be inserted behind the cover page for that lane. Attachment #2 should list all of the discrepancies for the lane. These should be all of the discrepancies regardless of their status. This way a history of the repairs can be maintained. Next step is to put together a list of the parts on attachment #3 that are needed to accomplish all of the repairs. This list can now be scrutinized to determine which parts and repairs will bring the biggest improvement to the efficiency of the pinsetter. Not all items will be able to be taken care. Lastly, the cover page should be filled out based on the inspection and any repairs that were made. If a section is found to not have any issues, an X should be placed in the appropriate box. If the section was inspected but found to have even one issue, a / should be placed in the appropriate box. As repairs are made to each section and that section is completed, an X can then be placed in the appropriate box. The goal of course is to have all X s in the boxes.
2 The following pages are designed to give you ideas on what to look at for each section. They are numbered to match the rows on the cover page. These are not all inclusive and further inspection of each section should be done based on the inspector s experience. Something to remember while looking at each section is to assume the worst. If you are inspecting a clutch, disassemble the clutch to be sure you are seeing everything. 1. Ball Wheel Inspect condition of lower and upper guide rollers. Look for bad bearings, worn of broken tires and flanges. Inspect condition of the ball wheel belt. Use endless type belt only and adjust so that belt does not ride against any of the guide rollers.
