Compete in Scholastic Achievement, Fitness, Talent, Self -Expression & Interview. Senior girls interested in competing must register online as soon as possible. Go to website and click on Participate to apply at no charge. A program representative will contact you with the date and place most convenient for you to participate. Do Something Grants Website: The Do Something Grants are available to students aged 25 or under, who are social entrepreneurs and/or volunteers. Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation Amount: Varies Website: Available to current high school and college students. Complete rules and regulations are found on the sponsor s website. CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes Amount: $1000 Website: For high school students who sign up to receive college planning and money management information from Wells Fargo s CollegeSTEPS program will automatically be entered for a chance to win $1000. Comcast Leaders & Achievers Scholarship Deadline: November 7 Amount: $1000 Each school may nominate one student for the chance to win this $1,000 award for students who have best demonstrated a commitment to community service, positive attitude, leadership skills and academic achievement. Nomination applications are available in the counseling center and should be returned to Mrs. Penrod by November 7, National Beta Club Scholarship Program Deadline: November 20 Amount: $1000-$15,000 Website: ALL Senior Beta Members registered with National Headquarters are eligible to apply for a National Beta Scholarship. 2 11/4/2014 Youth Volunteer Scholarship Award Amount: $500 Deadline: November 29 Website: To be eligible, you must have completed a minimum of 50 hours volunteer work and maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher over the past two years. UTeach Arkansas Scholarship Contest Amount: $5000 Deadline: November 30 Website: The UTeach Arkansas Scholarship Package is available to any student entering college academic year who is a resident of Arkansas. Each applicant must create an online video up to 15 seconds long demonstrating a science, technology, engineering or math concept and enter your video online. Fred Luster, Sr. Education Foundation Cosmetology Scholarship Amount: $250 Deadline: November 30 Website: Beauty school students can earn a cosmetology scholarship. Lyceum Scholars Program Deadline: December 1 Amount: Up to $10,000 Website: The Lyceum Scholars Academic Program at Clemson University is America s first and only university-based academic program dedicated to exploring the moral, political, and economic foundations of a free society. In addition to receiving a scholarship, each student in the Lyceum Scholars Program is paired with a faculty mentor, who guides their intellectual development throughout the program. The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America Essay Contest Amount: Week in Washington Deadline: December 1 Website: This organization sponsors an essay contest for high school students, grades 10-12, to receive a scholarship to attend a summer Washington Workshops Congressional Seminar. Arkansas Alumni Association Scholarships Deadline: December 1(priority) Amount: $ Website: Incoming freshman admitted to the University of Arkansas with at least a 3.60 GPA and a 24 on the ACT should apply for these awards. Chancellor s Leadership Corps (UALR) Deadlines: December 1 (priority) Amount: Up to $8000 Website: The Chancellor's Leadership Corps (CLC) is a comprehensive scholars program that focuses on learning, leading, and serving the community. 175 renewable scholarships will be awarded. Students must have a 3.0 GPA. A

Elks Lodge Most Valuable Student Competition Deadline: December 5 Amount: $ ,000 Website: four-year scholarships will be awarded to the highest rated high school senior applicants. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Male and female applicants are judged separately. Applications are available online at then submitted to the North Little Rock Elks Lodge. Global Missions Scholarship Program Samford University Amount: $2000 annually Deadline: December 11 Website: This scholarship is for Samford s entering freshman students who demonstrate a clear sense of calling toward a vocation in full-time cross-cultural missions. Recipients receive $2,000 each academic year, for up to four years, and a one-time travel stipend of up to $3,000 for the required cross-cultural mission immersion. For more information, visit website Foreclosure.com Scholarship Program Deadline: December 15 Amount: $ Website: Essay Topic: Please describe in your own words how the "rent-to-own" option, among others, might best benefit folks hit by the foreclosure crisis until they are ready to go "all in" on another mortgage. Essay submissions must be between 800 and 2,000 words and all accepted freshmen (with a student ID) are eligible to apply. Checks will be made out to the college or university attended in the form of a non-renewable scholarship grant AXA Achievement Scholarship Deadline: December 15 Amount: $10,000-25,000 Website: Seniors who demonstrate ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, respect for self, family and community and ability to succeed in college should apply for this scholarship. One winner in each state (+D.C. and P.R.) will receive $10,000. Ten of the 52 national winners will receive an additional $15,000. Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to speak clearly, intelligently, and acceptance of the responsibilities as well as the privileges of American citizenship. National High School Poetry Contest Deadlines: September 30, December 31, March 31, June 30 Amount: $1500 Website: Awards are given for original, unpublished poems of no more than 20 lines. Apprentice Ecologist Initiative Scholarship Deadline: December 31 Amount: $850 Website: The Apprentice Ecologist Initiative Scholarship is open to graduating students interested in the environment. The initiative seeks to elevate young people (including disadvantaged and at-risk youth) into leadership roles by engaging them in environmental cleanup projects, empower volunteers to rebuild the environmental and social well-being of our communities, and improve local living conditions for both citizens and wildlife. Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship Deadline: December 31 Amount: $1000 Website: The Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship is open to 9th-12th grade high school students, college students or graduate school students who are legal U.S. residents. Students not currently in school must plan to enroll in a higher education program within 12 months. Students may study any major and attend any college in the U.S. The award may be used for tuition, room and board, books or any related educational expense. A brief personal statement is required. John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest Deadline: January 5 Amount: $500-10,000 Website: It takes courage to stand up for your beliefs. GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program Deadline: January 8 Amount: $10,000/yr. for up to four years ($40,000) Website: The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.
