1 presents A young Riders Academy for jumping under the patronage of European Equestrian Federation in cooperation with International Jumping Riders Club with the support of Rolex February, 2014

2 Objective The growth of equestrian sport, the growth of future riders. Strategy To help in developing level of sport, to help in training young talent riders as ambassadors for future generation. To help in preparing riders for a business career even after their active days are over. Tool The organization of a riding academy dedicated to young talents.

3 Sport The selection 25 younger riders (18 to23) with an established level of riding skills are selected as follows: about 5 riders from the top of the European Championships and 20 riders suggested by European National Federations, with a maximum of three per NF. Candidates must fulfil the following criteria: riding skill based on excellent results for classes personal profile including education, interests, ambitions personal and family background

4 Sport The selection The 25 riders are invited to take part in two official CSI. To each event 10 to 15 riders are competing. For the first year sites could possibly be Toscana Tour Arezzo and Northern Germany During both events their performance is evaluated by a group of three very experienced former international riders. The selection consists of careful evaluation of their riding skills both in competition, warm-up and flat-work. All participants will be interviewed by the selection panel to assess their personal qualities with regard to education, personal appearance, ability to communicate and so on. Based on this process about 5 riders are chosen for the program.

5 Sport Riding program The selected participants are offered a program including: 6 months at a proven professional stable. Economy for competition stables and event organization (event back-stage). Roles and functions of National Federations (invited for inside look at well organized NF). Very basic horse veterinary. By making agreements with selected events these riders would be invited together with their tutor at major CSI throughout their educational period.

6 Mental Coaching Analysis and explanation of the most powerful techniques for change work and for mental training with the aim to improve the performances in competitions. The purpose is to teach the athletes the necessary competences so that they can manage their own resources to reach their top potential especially under stress and difficulties that can arise in competition. What they will learn: Techniques for effective state management. Techniques for the creation of positive anchors. Techniques to maximize concentration and manage positively internal dialogue. Mental reframing and ability to overcome failure in competition. Visualization techniques and mental conditioning techniques for success anticipation. Strategies for motivation and activation (mental warm up). Goal setting and goal management. Techniques for strengthening self confidence.

7 Teambuilding Analysis and explanation of the essential characteristics that every team needs to create in order to be a top performer team. The purpose is to give the athletes the necessary competences so they will be able to create around them the ideal team to reach their goals. What they will learn: Techniques of effective communication in teams. Techniques for giving/receiving effective feedback. Strategies for conflict resolution. Leadership (personality and authority). Ability to delegate and to own responsibility. Synergy and team dynamics.

8 Business & Economics Analysis and explanation to create the basis for the economic management of small entrepreneurial activities ( stables\ showjumping team\ training center). The purpose is to transfer the necessary competences so that the athletes will be able to manage their own businesses in relation to their levels of profitability. What they will learn: Ability to distinguish variable costs to fixed costs. Basic concepts of primary margin concerning contribution margin and EBITDA\ VAT issues. Business management and efficient schedule planning. Budgeting. Annual budgeting. Profit and loss and balance sheet (learn how a financial statement works even in equestrian environment).

9 Marketing & Communication Analysis and explanation of the latest and best Marketing strategies (last generation marketing 2.0) and best techniques of effective and persuasive communication. The purpose is to transfer to the athletes the necessary competences so that they will be able to promote themselves and offer themselves and their activity on the market and position their equestrian brand strategically. What they will learn: Strategies of Web marketing 2.0. How to create convincing marketing messages. Persuasive communication. Basis of Direct Response Marketing and Marketing (DEM). How to use the web to acquire new customers and to position their brand. How to use social media to acquire followers and position themselves on that market. Differences between Marketing and Communication.

10 Legal Identification and explanation of topic juridical arguments linked to a horse negotiation. Analysis of the relationship between National Federation and Rider, FEI and Rider. The purpose is to teach the athletes the general criteria which must be respected in buying/selling a horse and to explain them the rights and the duties which link the Rider to the FEI and the Rider to the National Federation.

11 Veterinary and anti-doping A veterinary will explain to the athletes the basics of horses bio mechanical aspects. The EAD and ERMC Rules list of substances and methods prohibited in competition. The purpose is to make clear to the Riders what they can do and what they can not in preparation of and during competitions. A lawyer will examine FEI procedures regarding anti-doping violation and same practical cases already closed. The purpose is to make the rider aware of the correct approach to an accusation of anti-doping violation.
