1 JOB/PERSON SPECIFICATION Job Title IT Development Manager Person Specification The British Judo Association is a sports National Governing Body and a medium sized, public-facing modern business heavily reliant on cloud technology and IT infrastructure. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong technical skills whose love of sport means they understand the unique demands of an NGB. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on technical skills and relevant experience of providing first and second line support. He/she will be able to analyse business processes and apply technology to streamline them and also have team leader or staff supervisory experience. The successful candidate will have project management experience and be able to deal directly with third party developers and suppliers. He/she will be comfortable using emerging technologies and have experience with software as a service and CRM systems, ideally Salesforce. The successful candidate must be confident to work on his/her own and as part of a team. He/she should also be prepared to work extensively off-site and out of hours at weekends to provide IT services at Judo events. Job Specification To manage and develop British Judo s IT infrastructure and to manage the administration and support of all IT, communication systems and networks. Key Responsibilities To manage and develop the BJA s IT infrastructure Supervise and support the IT Technician Ensure all infrastructure is maintained and supported Ensure faults are diagnosed quickly and rectify in a timely manner Liaise with external suppliers, engineers and maintenance companies Maintain the existing Salesforce/Force.com based membership CRM system Project manage the Salesforce/Force.com CRM system development to meet other teams requirements Administer and maintain the Google Apps platform Ensure an integrated approach across CRM and web site development Evaluate and implement new hardware in conjunction with external suppliers in conjunction with external suppliers and other departments Configure and install new IT equipment/software Liaise with the Communications Team with regard to web development Page 1 of 5

2 To implement and manage IT infrastructure at BJA events To ensure data security, standards compliance and business continuity Plan, implement and review business continuity plans Maintain the confidentiality and security of systems and data Maintain an inventory of hardware assets and software licences Ensure employees observe the IT acceptable use policies for equipment and services, reporting any breaches to the appropriate line manager Continually update IT procedures and documents to ensure they are current and correct Create new procedures for new projects and initiatives Ensure that system back-up and disaster recovery plans are in place Advise and inform management on technical issues arising as part of fault resolution or systems installation To support the Executive Team to develop the BJA s IT strategy To develop innovative IT solutions to streamline business processes Keep up to date with the latest hardware and software developments to see how they can best be applied to the Association s business processes To source internal/external IT training provision as required to ensure end-users make the best use of their skills Special Conditions Be willing to work outside normal office hours Be available to attend events and championships at locations within Great Britain (often at weekends) This role requires regular and extensive contact with children and therefore will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a DBS background check General Responsibilities To operate in accordance with the Association s policies and procedures, in particular the BJA s Equal Opportunities Policy To positively promote the position of the BJA as the national governing body for Judo at all times To maximise the resources of the BJA at all times To promote a positive image of the BJA in all dealings with internal and external contacts Responsible to/managed by: Finance and Operations Director This job description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive. 3 EMPLOYMENT DETAILS Proposed start date: o Hours of Work: ASAP 37.5 hours per week. However, your hours of work are those necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role to the satisfaction of the Association. 5 About the British Judo Association The British Judo Association (BJA) is the National Governing Body for the Olympic Sport of Judo in Great Britain. The Association represents Great Britain internationally and is a member of The International Judo Federation, The European Judo Union, The British Olympic Association, The Central Council of Physical Recreation, Commonwealth Judo Association, and the Commonwealth Games Council. The BJA is a membership organisation and has expanded its network of clubs, qualified coaches and individual members throughout Britain providing access to the sport in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. There are currently approximately 900 clubs and 32,000 individual members.
