4 WELCOME TO THE HOME OF CHAMPIONS! Many people know Finland by its World Champions in enduro. Finland is also well-known for the fact that over the years Finns have arranged almost all international major races for motorcycles and snowmobiles on the FIM Calendar always with care and strictly by the rules. I m sure many of you still remember the 1996 ISDE in Hämeenlinna. The competition received much praise, both for the smooth arrangements and promt and fast result service. This is why the Enduro and Cross-Country Rallies Commission of FIM referred to it as the best enduro race of that year. After 15 years, it is again the turn of Finland to organise the FIM International Six Days Enduro. The Finnish Motorcycling Federation can now demonstrate their updated skills and competence in the 2011 event and organise an interesting competition. 5 THE LAND OF GREAT TERRAINS Finland offers unique enduro terrains. The sand and stone types of the Finnish soil are downright exotic on a global scale. Even though the area is pretty flat, the different kinds of forests, unusual soil conditions and pure nature make each ride a unique experience, especially in the summer. It is often asked why so many top names in motorsports come from Finland. There s not a straightforward answer to that question, so I challenge you all to visit Finland and get a feel of the Finnish soil. Perhaps you ll then find an answer. 6 TAKE IT EASY IN FINLAND Finland is located in Northern Europe neighbouring Sweden, Norway, Estonia and Russia. In addition to ice hockey, Formula One drivers and mobile phones, Finland is perhaps best known for its lakes, forests and archipelago. 8 KOTKA-HAMINA REGION THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITIES The - region is located at the crossroads of East and West. Excellent transport connections and a location between Helsinki and St Petersburg render the region easily accessible. The large area of the town contains rugged nature and several smaller centres alongside the main urban centre. The attractions worthy of visiting include the Tykkimäki Amusement Park and the awe-inspiring sceneries of the Repovesi National Park. Loviisa Historic Loviisa Loviisa is located about a 35-minute drive away from and. The heart of this idyllic seaside town is its original old town dating from the 18th century.
