2 RAFFAELLO 19 Sottomarina - Venezia Lenght: one full day Program: Departure at 9.00 am. from Sottomarina (ponte Isola dell unione). Crossing south the Venetian Lagoon we will come close to the coasts of Pellestrina and Lido of Venice, where we have some fishermen towns like Pellestrina, San Pietro in Volta, Alberoni, Malamocco and the famous Lido of Venice wich is one of the most exciting and exclusive beach resorts in Italy. It s also famous for the well known International Film Festival. This festival has been going on for more than 60 years. Immediately, as a dream coming true you ll see Venice, the only city in the world built on the water, made of island, bridges and canals. After a panoramic view of ST. Mark s Square we will disembark hear by (the square). Free Time: to admire the Bridge of Sighs, the Doge s Palace, the St. Mark s Basilica, the Rialto Bridge, ecc... Lunch on a typical restaurant (on request) located right near St Mark s Square. Murano-Burano-Torcello Lenght: One full day Program: Departure from the embarkation point of Sottomarina, Fusina, Tronchetto or Punta Sabbioni. Meeting with our guide (on request), boarding on the motor yacht. Departing from Sottomarina we will cross the lagoon from south to nord bordering the coasts of Pellestrina and the Lido of Venice. Around that area we have some fishermen towns like Pellestrina, San Pietro In Volta, Alberoni, Malamocco, and the famous Lido of Venice which is one of the exciting and exclusive resorts places in Itally. It s also famous for the well known International Film Festival. While departing from other localities we must navigate at the internal part of the lagoon until we arrive to the island of Murano. Murano is well know for the many glass factories still keeping alive the traditions of glass blowing. We will stop here for about one hour and you ll have the opportunity to admire the art of glass blowing by one of its master. After the visit to Murano we will continue to Burano, there we will have lunch in a typical restaurant (always on request), and free time to visit this characteristic fishermen town. Here the houses are quite unique because they are painted with bright multicolors. The island is also famous for the lace works. We continue our navigation to Torcello: visit of an hour the monuments of this small center of the administrative power for the surrounding island. You can taste products of the local tradition. Around 15.00, departure on motoryacht for the tour to Pellestrina. Leaving at our backs the lagoon of Lusenzo and the port of Chioggia we will navigate toward nord; arriving to a place full of naturalistic interest where we can admire seagulls, herons ecc. The area is also well known for mussels. Following the navigation we arrive to a strip of land that separates the Venetian lagoon from the Adriatic Sea, that place is Pellestrina, is a small village with no more than inhabitants. Here you still can see some old ladies working the lace in a typical maner called tombolo. We stop for around 30 minutes and we leave for Chioggia crossing the entrance of the port. 4 RAFFAELLO 21 Sottomarina Fusina Mira Dolo Stra Riviera del Brenta-Ville Venete Length : 3 hours The Brenta Riviera goes all along the river banks of the old Brenta river that unites the cities of Padova and Venice. It was the ideal continuity of the Serenissima Republic (Venice) on the mainland. The Riviera was discovered between the 1500 and 1700 by the rich venetian aristocracy. Soon the Riviera became their natural summer resort the ville, maisons, were built and decorated by the greatest artists of the time. Kings, poets, artists, the cream of their society used the ville as their country homes celebrating there splendid parties. Program: Departure from Sottomarina or 4.00 from Fusina. Navigating with the Venetian lagoon and coasting the picturesque villages of Pellestrina and San Pietro in Volta till arrive to the embarkation Point at Fusina. There starts the navigation upriver of Naviglio Brenta among the greatnumber of ville, the first one is Villa Foscari, deep in the greenland; called The Malcontenta ( the unhappyone) was created by the great architec Andrea Palladio slipping slowly. Through the water we found Villa Priuli, Villa Allegri, Villa Moro, Villa Mocenigo; now near Oriago there is Villa Gradenigo. Navigating further down we arrive to Mira and here we have Villa Windman Rezzonico Foscari and the Barchessa Valmarana. You can visit both of them by previus booking. Between the Ville we come to meet different bridges and gang ways. But the most exciting moment is when we go through the locks of Moranzani and Mira Porte. After passing Villa Selvatico Granata, the smallest one in the whole Riviera, and for having the reason called bomboniera (box of sweets). We arrive to Dolo where we will stop for having lunch in a local restaurant. During the tour is possible to stop a couple of times (always with previous booking) to visit these splendid Venetian Ville. That s a bridge that connects Sottomarina to Chioggia. Crossing the lagoon we will start coasting Pellestrina and the Lido of Venice; There we have the fishermen village of Pellestrina, San Pietro In Volta, Alberoni, Malamocco and also he famous island Lido of Venice. Here every year you can attend to a formidable International Film Festival. After one hour and fifteen minutes we arrive on the island named San Lazzaro Degli Armeni.There we will stop for about one our to visit the convent of the armenian frays and the church with its beautiful mosaique, the art gallery, the translation center and the typography: we follow to Burano stopping there for aproximately 3 hours. Burano is a fishermen island famous the homes of its inhabitants. Multicolor paints used for the outside walls; the island is well know for the lace works, they go back to the XVI century. Always on request is possible to have lunch in a typical restaurant. From there we go to the island of San Francesco one hour stop. The island is located between Burano and Sant Erasmo; actually on the island there s a convent of Francescan Frays living out of what they grow on their vegetable garden and passing the time praing and meditating. It s said that coming back from the holyland San Francis of Assisi stayed at the island for a time and that s why the island carries his name. Crossing the lagoon we will navigate near the coasts of Pellestrina and the Lido of Venice; there we have the small villages of Pellestrina, San Pietro in Volta, Alberoni, Malamocco and the famous Lido of Venice, one of the most exclusive holidays resort of Italy. Here every years there is a formidable Film Festival (International). After one hour and fifteen minutes of navigations we arrive to the island named San Lazzaro degli Armeni; stop for 1 hours to visit a monastery that goes back to the end of It had been one of the most important center of Armenian culture; in this haven of peace and tranquillity you can visit (entrance to be paid) always booking in advance, two libraries, an art gallery, a museum and a fantastic collection of antique documents. The navigation continue to the coast of Pellestrina. Pellestrina goes all the way between Chioggia and Lido of Venice. Crossing the entrance of the Port of Chioggia we can sea a large number of fishermen taking care of their mussels farm Pellestrina is a narrow strip of land where all the houses are placed one by the side of the other painted with brightcolors and owned by fishermen who occupy their time with mussels and moluscs.
