The herd was re-established some 15 years ago after they were taken out with foot and mouth. It has been generally a closed herd over this 15-year period with only pure Friesian Bulls used. Their policy has been to calf their heifers at 3 years plus, and the whole herd have been housed in cubicles and milked twice daily. The TB status of the herd has always been 4 yearly. The herds cell count is 119. All cows have been foot trimmed and liquid thrived over the past month. Luck Money will be in the office on all the cattle sold at a rate of 10/head on in milk and calving cows/heifers, and 5/head on all young stock.
