4 note to mom or dad Trout Creek Bible Camp is an inter-denominational, independent Christian organization. We are located 28 miles east of Portland situated on 184 acres of beautiful wooded land. We offer summer programs for campers from grades two through 12, as well as a Family Camp for all ages. Our campers participate in a wide variety of activities including swimming, go karts, paintball, BMX bikes, mountain bikes, climbing wall, disc golf, hiking, crafts, various activity clubs, and many exciting group games, along with Bible Studies and Chapel. Campers will be under the guidance of a well-screened, thoroughly trained counselor during their stay at Trout Creek. It is our desire to provide your child with a camping experience that is exciting, fun, and most importantly, one that challenges and encourages them to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to use an outdoor environment for evangelism and discipleship, focusing primarily on children and youth through Christ-centered relationships and fun activities. CHILDREN S PROGRAMS Children s programs for children 3-years-old through 8th grade are provided during each General Session. Childcare for infants through 2-years-old is also available. Camp staff may be available for limited times to assist with childcare for infants and toddlers during other Family Camp activities as well. GENERAL INFORMATION Family Camp is one of the highlights of the summer at Trout Creek. Families of all sizes and ages join us for a few days of fun, fellowship, and relaxation. Families can enjoy many activities, a great speaker, and delicious, family-centered meal times. A relaxed schedule leaves lots of time to spend together. We offer several options for housing including cabins and a Retreat Center, or families can choose to bring their own housing including tents or RVs. 7 primary camp June 29 - July 1 For Kids Entering the 2nd - 3rd Grades This three-day camp is the perfect introduction for younger campers to experience an overnight camp for the first time. Campers will partake in many of the exciting activities and experiences that Trout Creek has to offer, in a program setting that is geared specifically to their abilities and desires. Swimming, games, inflatables, ball pit, Bible Studies, Chapel, great food, and lots of fun are just a few of the things available for campers during their stay. Our staff will help make this new experience a wonderful time for even the youngest campers. EXCITING ACTIVITIES Swimming Campers will have time to swim in one of our two pools. Campers will enjoy splashing and playing in our shallower game-pool as well as limited access to the deeper diving-pool with additional safety equipment provided. For non-swimmers, the camp has a limited number of life vests available, but campers are encouraged to bring a personal life vest if necessary. Inflatables and Ball Pit Perfect for Primary Campers who love sliding, bouncing, and playing. A great part of the overall camp experience. Arrival/Departure Information See page 10. junior camps For Kids Entering the 4th - 6th Grades 4th 6th graders will love the opportunity to spend an entire week at camp. From the moment they arrive on the grounds to the time they leave, campers will experience a great time of fun, games, activities, swimming, delicious food, Bible Studies, Chapel, fireside and many other exciting opportunities. Counselors and staff are there to help campers experience new activities in a positive, fun atmosphere, while showing God s love to each one throughout the week. EXCITING ACTIVITIES Fun Games Activities Swimming Great Food Bible Studies Chapel Fireside PLUS Climbing Wall Our 28 ft. climbing wall is just perfect for campers to try out their strength and skill as they ascend to the ceiling of the gym. BMX Biking Speed around our BMX track while trying to catch some air. Bikes and safety equipment are supplied, you just bring the excitement and nerve. Go Karts Speed around the track in gas-powered go karts specifically designed for fun and excitement, with safety in mind. (see Go Kart Information section, page 11) Club Options Each day, campers can choose from a variety of activity clubs where they will learn some new skills and have a blast. Excitement and adventures await those campers entering the 7th 9th grades. Campers will experience a great time of fun, games, activities, swimming, delicious food, Bible Studies, Chapel, fireside, go karts, climbing wall, BMX, club options, and many other exciting opportunities. Activities are all geared toward older campers who are looking for a week of fun, friends, and exciting times. Campers stay up later at night and experience some great activities including a night game and TC Live, our traditional talent show. Counselors and staff will lead Bible Studies, and Chapel Speakers will challenge today s teens, showing them God s love and how to live out their faith in the world today. Paintball There are two ways to enjoy Paintball: Paintball Club Paintball Club is offered in our Junior High camps only. The club will meet for one hour, twice a week and the fee is $35. All equipment will be provided for participation in this club. Indicate your interest in the Paintball Club on the Registration Form. Space is limited and campers are enrolled in the Paintball Club according to the date club fee ($35) is received. Paintball Activity If desired, campers in Junior High will have the opportunity to play paintball at least once during their week at camp for $5. This fee can be paid using the camper s spending money. (see Spending Money section, page 11). Jr. High 1 and 4 One-Day River Raft Trip junior high camps For Kids Entering the 7th - 9th Grades PLUS This trip is available during Jr. High 1 camp (June 23-28) and Jr. High 4 camp (Aug ). Campers will leave in the morning from camp during their week and travel to Central Oregon where they will spend the day riding the white water of the Deschutes River, then return to camp in the evening. This trip is a joint venture with Peak 7 Adventures (peak7.org) and is an optional activity with an additional cost of $75. Space is limited and campers are enrolled in the Raft Trip according to the date the fee ($75) is received. Indicate your interest in the one-day rafting trip on the registration form. Go Karts Speed around the track in gas-powered go karts specifically designed for fun and excitement, with safety in mind. Zip Line Speed down our 150 zip line for what is sure to be an exhilarating ride. 8 Arrival/Departure Information See page 10.

9 high school camps Students Entering the 9th - 12th Grades Campers entering the 9th 12th grades have two different opportunities to experience camp. Senior High Camp June Come spend a week at camp and have a great time! We ll stay in a retreat center and participate in many camp favorites like the climbing wall, the zip line, go karts, team comp, Chapel, paintball, and fireside. Unique to this camp, we will have a Karoke Café, and spend a day on the Columbia River at Rooster Rock State Park. So come to our Senior High Camp this summer and have the time of your life!!! Space is limited, so register early! Rockin Raft July Is Senior High Camp too tame for you? Rather spend the week roaring down rapids and drinking up the sun? Then do we have a camp for you! You ll spend three days in Central Oregon enjoying different kinds of water adventures. You ll arrive at camp on the first day and get settled in for a full day of fun on the campgrounds. Then, on Tuesday morning, you will be transported to the Deschutes River in Central Oregon for one full day of white water rafting and two full days of kayaking on the calmer waters of the lower Deschutes. Each night will be spent camping in the great outdoors under the stars. What an opportunity to see incredible scenery and learn about God s great creation in nature and His love for you His greatest creation. This trip is a joint venture with Peak 7 Adventures (peak7.org). They will supply all the necessary equipment for safety and enjoyment. Space is limited, so register early! Once you have registered for this camp, we will send you a specific list of items needed. Arrival/Departure Information See page 10. 9

10 opening/closing day On the first day of your camper s session, you can meet the staff and watch as cabin assignments are made. On the last day, you can meet your camper s counselor and have a camper-led tour. Visits during camping sessions are discouraged and must be cleared through the Camp Office prior to arrival. Please Note No pets allowed on opening and closing days. Primary, Junior, Junior High Camps On the Opening Day of each session (Monday for Jr. & Jr. High, Sunday for Primary), campers should arrive at Trout Creek Bible Camp between 9 and 10a.m. The Opening Program begins at 10a.m., followed by cabin assignments. On the Closing Day of each session (Saturday for Jr. & Jr. High, Tuesday for Primary), campers should be picked up between 9 and 9:30a.m. Parents are invited to attend a brief closing program at 9a.m. in the Chapel. health A Registered Nurse or Health Assistant is on site to address the health and safety concerns of each camper and to dispense all medications. Please Note Only prescription and essential non-prescription medications can be accepted and must be in original containers. Original prescription must accompany all medications. Camper's individual family insurance policy applies first for any medical needs. If necessary, Trout Creek carries an accident policy that provides secondary coverage. Dietary Information The camp kitchen is able to work with some dietary needs. If camper will need to be restricted from any foods while at camp, please the Food Service Director (foodservice@tcbc.com) prior to the camper session to confirm dietary needs and receive a list of available food substitutions. Parents may be asked to provide some food items. Please mark all items and bring them to the camp kitchen upon arrival on opening day. Items will be stored appropriately and served to the camper at each meal. High School Camps For opening day of both High School Camps, please arrive at camp on Monday between 9 and 10a.m. The Opening Program begins at 10a.m., followed by cabin assignments. On closing day, campers can be picked up on Friday at 4p.m. Family Camp Registration begins at 4:30p.m. on Opening Day. Please don t arrive earlier unless prior arrangements have been made. directions From Portland: Take the I-84 freeway to exit #18 (Lewis and Clark State Park). 11 go-karts Drivers START YOUR ENGINES! Get ready to speed around a dirt track and experience the wind rushing through your hair (under your helmet) and the ground racing under your feet, safely strapped into your own go kart. This activity is available during Junior, Junior High, and Senior High weeks of camp. Go Kart Klub Go Kart Klub is offered during our Junior and Junior High camps. The club meets for one hour, two times a week and the fee is $35. This club will provide instruction for the operation of go karts, safety and driving, and the opportunity to drive a variety of tracks. Indicate your interest in the Go Kart Club on the Registration Form. Space is limited and campers are enrolled in the club according to the date club fee ($35) is received. Go Kart Rides Junior, Junior High, and Senior High Campers will have the opportunity to ride the go karts at least once during their week at camp for $5. This fee will be paid using the camper s spending money. spending money Though not necessary for an enjoyable week, most campers bring some spending money for extras each week. Spending money can be used in our Camp Store which offers camp shirts, sweatshirts, souvenirs, disposable and digital cameras, stamps, and personal items (~$1-$35). Money can also be used in the Craft Room (~$1-$10), and to buy afternoon refreshments in the Snak Shak (~$1-$3). Primary Camp For this three-day camp, $10 $15 is an average amount. Junior and Junior High Camps Additional fees are also charged for Rocket Club ($7-$9), Go Karts ($5), and Junior High Paintball ($5) if your camper desires to participate in these activities. $25-30 is an average amount for these weeks. High School Camps There will be opportunities to visit the snak shak and camp store for both sessions of High School Camps, and those attending Senior High Camp will also have the opportunity to play paintball ($5) and ride the go karts ($5). $25-30 is an average amount for both High School Camps. 11
