1 South Kent KFCA We hosted a fantastic Prom event on 5 th April and all involved had a wonderful time. One young lady said I feel beautiful, I wish I could go back to the olden days and dress like this all the time. All of the young people had a great day and were thoroughly pampered, (even the boys had their 007 day!) they then had a photo shoot to give them a memory to keep. We raised over 500 at this event towards KFCA funds and this was due to the hard work of many people. We would like to thank everyone who was involved, especially Pam Barrow-Jones for providing a fantastic selection of dresses and The Folkestone Academy for hair styling, makeup and nail painting and to everyone else who helped either on the day or was involved in the planning of the event. Looks like the foster carer s enjoyed themselves too! Boot Fair - 7 June The day started with a rather heavy downpour, which forced most of us into the village hall BUT things dried up nicely, which allowed us to inflate the bouncy castle and the inflatable slide. Food was provided by RestBites catering and the owner gave his time and stock for free! So, all monies raised from burger and hot dog sales and from the inflatables went straight into the pot, with no costs incurred! The helpers and supporters were fantastic, with people manning stalls, the tombola, managing the inflatables, running sporting events for the children, making teas and coffees, making and supplying some wonderful cakes and setting up/clearing away. So a lot of work, but those who attended enjoyed wonderful food, gorgeous cakes, some amazing 'bugs' to look at and hold and a massive selection of boot fair items. Children had a great time on the inflatables and taking part in a number of organised races. In all we raised around 380 for the KFCA, which considering the impact of the weather and the fact that we'd managed to book this event on the same day as the Folkestone air show was quite impressive!

Golf Workshop Bradley, Ellie, Harry and Jack Carol Moody It certainly rained, all day! Rain failed to dampen the day; everyone had fun at our Sports day at Baypoint May 27 th Over 300 carers and YP attended. Workshops included Archery, Dodge ball, Golf, Football, NRG Dance, Volleyball, Pie factory (Sam Evans) with MC Harry Shotta & mini sports, all fantastic! It was also a nice surprise for everyone meeting Charlie O Brien and producer Matt from Heart, they came and did small interviews with carers, staff and YP; the podcast will be uploaded on to the young person s website: Kent cares town shortly. The staff egg & spoon race was brilliant watching them shuffling along on their bottoms with their egg & spoons --- Well done to Anne Lewis EK3 coming first, second place Murphy and third Melody, special thanks to Stephanie, Tracy, Anthony, Dawn, Neil Foads IRO, Rob, Fran and Mark Weinel SW for taking part, Haven t laughed like that in ages!
