Pacamor Kubar Bearings Focuses on Delivery Performance Excellence Pacamor Kubar Bearings (PKB) is committed to maintaining short lead times and meeting delivery promises with reliable on-time delivery. To ensure that product is always in the pipeline for new and repeat business, the company has increased its base of domestic, DFARS approved, raw material vendors and invested in new machinery for the ISO9001:2008 and AS9100:2009 certified factory in Troy, NY. PKB maintains the shortest factory lead time for domestic ball bearings with delivery of catalog bearings available in just 8-10 weeks. With the addition of new DFARS approved American vendors, PKB has streamlined factory production to ensure reliable on-time delivery performance. PKB procures domestic steel directly from American steel mills. With special focus on the Aerospace and Medical markets, PKB maintains a strong inventory of American-manufactured steel rod stock used for the most popular bearing sizes. 3 by creating several strategic redundancies with multiple domestic suppliers for standard components. By adding more domestic DFARS approved vendors to its vendor base, the risk of raw material shortages is minimized. This strategy will ensure that sufficient material is always available. With the recent upgrade to Pacamor Kubar Bearings quality certificate from AS9100:2004 to the new AS9100:2009 certification, the company is acutely focused on on-time delivery metrics. PKB is investing in its factory as well, by adding a Cincom A32 lathe to its primary turn capabilities. This state of the art lathe expands machine capacity and production efficiencies within the Troy, NY ball bearing factory. The Cincom A32 is reputed to be the world's fastest Swiss type CNC automatic Lathe. The new lathe will enable PKB to shorten its uniquely compact factory lead time of 8-10 weeks for standard bearings and respond more quickly to new and unique ball bearing requests from the aerospace community. Enhanced products, as a result of this new lathe, will include shaft and bearing assemblies, angular contact bearings, full complement bearings, and expedited responses to time sensitive prototype requests. Pacamor Kubar Bearings is currently developing a new manufacturing cell for special projects with large Aerospace and Space OEMs. PKB believes this segment of the bearing market is critical to its long-term growth and viability. The A32 will enable us to meet ultra tight tolerances that so many of our aerospace customers require.
