Fil-każ ta kandidat magħżul li mhux Uffiċjal Pubbliku bi grad sustantiv/status indefinit fis-servizz Pubbliku ta Malta, is-servizz tiegħu mad-dkse kif ukoll mal-gvern ta Malta jitwaqqaf fil-każ tat-terminazzjoni tan-nomina u jekk il-ħatra ta Uffiċjal fi Grad 5 ma tkunx ikkonfermata. be consulted on ( Pages/Legislation.aspx). 2.0 Terms and Conditions 2.1 The position of Assistant Director is pegged to Salary Scale 5, which in 2015 is equivalent to 24, rising by annual increments of up to a maximum of 28, The selected candidate will enter into a thirty-six (36) month performance agreement as Assistant Director with the DQSE which may be renewed for further periods. 2.3 The Performance Agreement will include a Performance Bonus of up to 15% of the basic salary. This entitlement will be subject to the established performance review procedure. The appointees will not be entitled to other perquisites pertaining to an appointment to a Headship position. 2.4 An Assistant Director may be conditioned to a maximum of a six-day flexible working week of an average weekly working time of forty hours averaged over a calendar year on a time-table as established by the Director General DQSE and is subject to the rules and regulations governing from time to time the Malta Public Service in general and the DQSE in particular. 2.5 Public Officers taking up the position of Assistant Director shall, upon appointment, be required to decide whether to retain their substantive grade, or whether they wish to opt for appointment as Officer in Grade The appointment of the selected candidate as Officer in Grade 5 as per above will be subject to a probationary period of three (3) years and confirmation in that grade will be subject to satisfactory performance in the position of Assistant Director in the DQSE. 2.7 If the appointment of an appointee who has opted to be appointed as Officer in Grade 5 is not confirmed or is terminated during the initial three-year period as Assistant Director, he/she will be required to relinquish the abovementioned appointment as Officer in Grade 5 and the appointment of Assistant Director, and in the case of a selected candidate who is a Public Officer already holding a substantive grade/indefinite status in the Malta Public Service, he/she will revert to his/her substantive grade/ indefinite status on the termination of the assignment. However, if the substantive salary of a selected officer becomes higher than the maximum of Scale 5 through progression, he/she will be allowed to complete his/her stipulated term of engagement as provided by the assignment in force In the eventuality of termination, or non-renewal of assignment as Assistant Director in the case of an appointee who chose to be appointed Officer in Grade 5 as per paragraph 2.5 above, and who has been confirmed in such grade after the initial three year period, he/she will revert to the said grade and may be posted in any government department or Ministry. 3.0 Duties and Responsibilities 3.1 The duties of an Assistant Director (Quality Assurance) include: Participating in and co-ordinating the monitoring, regulation, support and evaluation of School Improvement including but not limited to School Development Planning as the main internal review tool and external reviews in State and Non-State Schools as per Quality Assurance Standards; Review and periodically update all documentation pertaining to the Quality Assurance Department; Liaising for the DQSE with local and international institutions in the field of Quality Assurance and School Inspections, and undertake related duties; Participating in the Business Planning process, including providing input to the Directorate s Business Plan and Financial Estimates Exercise; Monitoring achievements against plans and milestones and ensuring targets are met; Ensuring and monitoring the implementation and evaluation of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and other national strategies and policies, while regularly contributing to their relevant review;

Ċertifikati ta Diploma/Degree/Post- Graduate jew kwalifiki komparabbli rikonoxxuti għandhom jiġu akkumpanjati minn traskritt bl-ingliż, li juri l-grad miksub u l-klassifika finali. Kwalifiki u esperjenzi mressqa mill-applikant għandhom ikunu msaħħa minn ċertifikati u/ jew rakkomandazzjonijiet, li kopji tagħhom għandhom jew ikunu scanned u mehmużin mal-applikazzjoni jew mibgħutin separatament lid-dkse mhux aktar tard minn għaxart (10) ijiem ta xogħol mid-data tal-għeluq. Diploma/Degree/Post-Graduate certificates or recognised comparable qualifications must be accompanied by a transcript in English, showing the grade obtained and the final classification.
