3 Efficiency and safety In the development of engineering components, Ensinger will provide you with an integrated process chain throughout: our technicians and engineers will support you both in selecting the right materials as well as when recommending suitable designs for plastic components. Subsequently, the constructors will then develop the most economical solution for your individual application, in cooperation with the in-house tool making department. The processing of conventional 3D-customer data sets is a standard feature in this case. The design of the part and the respective tooling can be carried out at an early stage in development, for example, using finite element analysis (FEM) for the calculation of strengths and flow simulation. Fully automated production concepts and integrated quality assurance maximize cost-effectiveness. 4 Thrust washers Piston rings Ensinger injection moulded thrust washers are used primarily in those branches of industry concerned with producing gear boxes, motors and couplings. We guarantee an outstanding level of expertise, especially for dry and lubricated applications, with our customized wear-and-tear and friction-optimized speciality compounds. In this case, processes are also oriented to ensure you receive a 360 full-service spectrum of support regarding advice on materials, component construction, innovative processing technology as well as access to our material database. Advantages of Ensinger thrust washers: Tribology and versatile formulations Material optimization Frictional test benches The characteristic identifying feature of injection moulded piston rings is an opening in the ring as well as a defined non-cylindrical form when uninstalled. Piston rings first attain a circular shape when they are compressed into the assembled state. According to the required modulus of elasticity, mechanical strength and abrasion resistance, rectangular sealing rings and piston rings are developed from individually modified high-temperature plastics, in order to ensure optimization of machine parts exposed to dynamic friction. In this case, the respective formulations of Ensinger compounds are just as versatile as the application options. Using our long-standing experience, we can specifically implement your technical requirements and will be able to competently provide help in the technical and structural design of your products. 5 Ball sockets Ball sockets are used mainly in the axle and steering systems of all well-known OEM and tier 1-level manufacturers. 6 Gear wheels In order to achieve optimized gear wheel functionality, both the design and the mould filling simulation have to be tailored to match the respective plastic used. Furthermore, basic injection moulding tests are carried out in close co-operation with the customer. Technical consultancy on material suitability as well as optimization of the formulation are carried out in parallel to this also from a material and technical point of view and always with the specific application in mind. This is then approved. We place particular emphasis on material selection according to the application, developmental expertise, construction using customized plastics, as well as on hybrid designs.
