1 FRC Full Featured Viewer Upgrade Manual FRC upgraded its PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) May 17, 2015 and is now offering to physician/physician practices the ability to view images on mobile devices with a new HTML 5.x Scaled Image Viewer and with the well liked Full Featured Viewer. This document will assist the installation of the new software for the Full Featured Viewer. As always, if you experience problems, FRC s IT team is standing by to assist you in any way we can by simply calling us at , Monday thru Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Caveats: In order to utilize the Full Featured Viewer, your PC/Workstation must meet the following: 1. Be a Windows PC/Workstation running Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8/ Accessing our physician portal ( with Microsoft s Internet Explorer versions 7, 8, 9, 10, Already have an existing account on FRC s physician portal website. 4. The Full Featured Viewer will not work on any other Operating System or with any other browser. We have coded to detect both the Operating System and Web Browser being utilized and the links DO NOT appear for the Full Featured Viewer if the above caveats are not being met. 5. The user account on the PC/Workstation must have Administrative Rights in order to download and install the new Full Featured Viewer software. If the user account does not have Administrative Rights on the PC/Workstation, please contact your IT Department to get the correct account. After the software is installed, the regular account will be able to run the software from FRC s IT Department can t help you if the user account does not have Administrative Rights. 6. FRC has built a stream lined installer with minimal inputs to correctly get the software working. However, Antivirus Software, Malware Detection Software, etc., may try to block the install. Each PC/Workstation is different, and if anytime during the installation of the Full Featured Viewer Software a pop up warning is displayed, the user must satisfy the pop up(s) in order to finish the installation. 2 Part 1: Installing the new Full Featured Viewer Software from 1. If your PC/Workstation is Windows XP/7/8/8.1 and you are accessing FRC s Physician Portal in Internet Explorer 10/11, you will be able to use the Scaled Viewer (limited functionality) and the Full Featured Viewer. To install the Full Featured Viewer software, click on View Images (Full Viewer). 2. Our Physician Portal will test to see if the software is not installed and direct your browser to our software installation page (if the software is already installed, it will by pass this page). Click on Click here to run the installation : Page 2

Depending on the version of Windows and Internet Explorer and/or Antivirus and Malware detection packages installed on your workstation, you will get varying pop ups to Run, Save or Cancel the software installation. Click on Run to start the download and installation of the Full Featured Viewer Software. 6 The next 4 images are examples of Windows XP/Internet Explorer 7 running Symantec Antivirus If your PC/Workstation has Antivirus, Malware detection software, Windows Defender, etc., installed, you may get different pop ups. You must satisfy all pop ups in order to install the software. Below are some examples of possible, but not all, pop ups that may occur: Page 6

7 5. If the PC/Workstation Operating System is Windows 7/8/8.1, you will eventually get the UAC (User Access Control) pop up. Click on Yes : Page 7

8 6. You will eventually get through all of the prerequisite pop up prompts from Windows and the actual software will begin to install. From this point on, the user will not be prompted until the installation is complete. 7. As the installation progresses, the installer will close all open Internet Explorer windows, clearing your desktop. This is normal, as we are adding FRC s secure websites to your Trusted Sites and Allowed Pop Up Sites automatically for you. Page 8

9 8. Next, the installer will place a shortcut on your desktop that points to This shortcut may used in the future to access FRC s Physician Portal. 9. The installation will continue. Again, please be patient. The final step will install the IntelliSpace PACS Enterprise Software. Page 9

10 10. When the installation is done, you will be prompted to click on Finish. This will close the installer windows. 11. At this point, you can now click on the FRC Image Viewer shortcut that the installer placed on your desktop to launch Internet Explorer directed to FRC s Physician Portal: You will now have the full features to compare prior studies with the current study, turn on Scout Lines, Link studies so that the slices automatically change as you scroll through the images, and many more. The tools are accessed by right clicking your mouse while hovering over an image. Page 10
