2 The Michaelmas Issue is the first of the two issues of each academic year and is published in Michaelmas term. It is a special issue dedicated to the publication of papers presented at the Lancaster University Ghana Annual Law Colloquium in the Easter break of the previous academic year. The Colloquium is an inter-faculty event in which academics from the most prestigious law programmes in the country present their original research or theoretical papers to be developed in full for the Michaelmas Issue. The Colloquium is open to the public and is typically attended by academics from the participating and non-participating institutions, Practitioners, independent researchers and Law students. Papers in this issue are drawn from Lancaster University Ghana Law Dept., University of Ghana School of Law, GIMPA Law Faculty, and University of Cape Coast Faculty of Law. Citation: (2015) 1 LUGLJ. The LUGLJ is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original work in any field of law. The journal focuses primarily on developments in and relevant to Ghanaian law, though insightful works on other West African jurisdictions are also welcome. The journal hopes to publish two issues a year with the second volume being a special issue dedicated to publishing papers presented at the Annual Law Colloquium hosted by the Lancaster University Ghana s Law Department.
