3 COMPETITION INFORMATION THE COMPETITION The British Diving Junior Elites is the highlight of the domestic junior calendar with the top divers aged under 19 battling it out for honours in their respective age groups 13 and under, 14 & 15 years and 16, 17 and 18 years, also known as C,B and A. The Junior Elites not only serves to find our National Junior Elite Champions but more importantly it is the event used to select our Junior International Teams. In 2012 Olympic year the programme has been altered and the Junior Elites brought forward to April. This is a break in tradition going back well over twenty years, the rationale for this move was to free up the June week for the GB Championships and trials for the Olympic Games. In 2012 divers in Plymouth will be aiming to qualify to compete in the International Junior Competition in Dresden Germany. The event is highly prestigious with 22 countries including China, Canada and Ukraine competing in The British Team divers will not only be competing for medals in Germany but also places in the European Junior Championship Team. The diving pool contains 4 x 1m springboard, 3 x 3m springboard including water harness, 3m wide platforms at 3m, 5m, 7.5m and 10m with 1.5m wide 1m platform. Bubble machines and Tivo systems. The dry dive gym has 3 x dry boards including foam pit 2 x trampoline, sprung floor, and general diving aids, 3

5 ADDITIONAL EVENT INFORMATION Training Divers who have booked to have additional training for both Monday the 2 nd of April and Tuesday the 3 rd of April will be able to gain access to the pool through the main entrance. All names will be checked via a list at the main reception. Additional training also includes access to Dry Land training, however please note the Dry land rules listed below. Rules of Dry land training CATERING All divers must be accompanied by their coach (the coach must be 18+) No eating or drinking in the Dry Land room No outdoor shoes in the Dry Land room and all shoes must be clean. All equipment should be used as intended A pasta party will be available each evening on the 3 rd until the 6 th of April for Divers at 5 per head. This will include a choice of pastas and salads, as well as jacket potatoes This party is available for divers, and all team staff including coaches and chaperones. If you have not yet booked onto the pasta party, please contact natasha.cuthbert@swimming.org. You have until the 28 th of March. CLOTHING Please could all competitors be aware that no international kit is to be worn at any point throughout the championships. During medal ceremonies full club kit or tracksuits and trainers must be worn. No towels or bare feet are allowed. TECHNICAL MEETING TUESDAY 3rd APRIL TIME: 6pm All officials must attend as well as one club representative. Please inform the event staff via (natasha.cuthbert@swimming.org) or at the event, if you are unable to attend the meeting and if you are not able to send a substitute. 5

6 TICKETS TICKET SALES Tickets will be available to purchase at the front of house desk, for all family and friends of divers, as well as the general public. Please note that tickets will be limited and we would advise you purchase them in advance of the event. They will be sold on a first come first served basis. If you would like to buy your tickets for the event in advance, please follow the below instructions for ticket purchase. Programmes and Diver lists will also be available from the front of house desk which will be located at the main reception area. 7 ACCREDITATION COMPETITORS Accreditation for divers competing in the British Gas Elite Junior Diving Championships will be photographic. Accreditation will be avalible to collect at the technical meeting by your coach or alternatively it will be avalible from the front desk based in the main Plymouth Life Centre Reception. COACHES/CHAPERONES For all ASA and British Diving events in 2012 all coaches will be required to have a coach pass to gain access to the changing area and poolside. Accreditation will be avalible to collect at the technical meeting by your coach or alternativly it will be avalible from the front desk based in the main Plymouth Life Centre Reception For any enquiries about coach/chaperone passes, or if you have not yet submitted your pass, please contact Janice Munning on or Janice.munning@swimming.org DIVE SHEETS Divers/Coaches are requested to submit dive sheets electronically, both for their own convenience and to minimize the chance of errors loading the data into the Recording program. Coaches may make bulk submission of dive sheets on behalf of their divers by using the program DiveSheets with which they will already be familiar. Alternatively, individual divers may submit their own dive sheets on-line. Please agree with your coach which method you should use. To submit your dive sheets on-line: and follow the instructions. As soon as you complete the on-line submission you will see a success/failure message. If successful you will be sent an automatic confirming receipt of your details and dives. You can check your submitted dive sheets a few days before the event online at If you experience problems and need assistance please contact Malcolm Taylor at malcolm@mdt.me.uk. Electronic submissions must be made by no later than Midnight 2 nd April You will be asked to sign hard copies of these sheets at the venue, available from the Recorders. If you are unable to use the above electronic methods, you can submit a hard copy of your lists of dives to the Recorders. Deadline for manual dive sheets is 30minutes before the start of the Technical Meeting. 7
