The University of South Australia has quickly established a global reputation for the quality and creativity of its graduates and the innovative, outcomes focused relevance of its research. It is Australia s youngest university to be ranked in the Times Higher Education s top 50 of world universities under 50-yearsold. Students enjoy a wide range of hands-on learning opportunities, alongside spaces for leisure activities. The campus is home to studies in health sciences, construction, planning and environmental studies as well as SAIBT. Mawson Lakes Campus Located in one of Adelaide s premier developing suburbs, the Mawson Lakes campus boasts contemporary teaching, learning and research facilities. The campus is located 20 minutes from Adelaide city centre and is home to lawn and wetland areas, cafés, and leisure facilities. The campus is home to studies in computing and information technology, engineering, science, aviation, mathematics, education, construction, planning and environmental studies. City West Campus At the western edge of the city, City West is just a short walk from the Adelaide Railway Station and tram. City West is in the heart of Adelaide s major arts, culture and entertainment precinct, and in the hub of vibrant new developments in business and health. The campus is home to the University s Business School as well as studies in art, architecture and design and the Centre for English Language in the University of South Australia (CELUSA). Magill Campus Just a short distance from the city, Magill campus is located in Adelaide s eastern suburbs and features lush gardens and open spaces providing a relaxed and picturesque setting. SAIBT Programs SAIBT offers a full range of programs: Diploma of Arts Diploma of Business Diploma of Engineering Diploma of Health Science Diploma of Information Technology Why choose SAIBT? Campus location SAIBT is located on the University of South Australia s City East campus. Learning environment SAIBT teaching staff are fully qualified, and all programs are taught by lecturers approved by the University. Small class sizes SAIBT academic classes usually have no more than 40 students and are complemented by small group tutorials and workshops to ensure that students receive individual attention from their teachers. Campus facilities SAIBT students have access to all of the University facilities including: gym, library, bookshops, prayer rooms, cafés and lots more. Flexible start dates SAIBT offers three trimesters each year, commencing in February, June and October. With three intakes per year students can enter a program when it is convenient for them. Fast-track options For eligible students, SAIBT diploma courses offer a fast-track option where students can complete a program in eight months rather than 12 months. FEE-HELP approved Study now and pay later. Australian students are entitled to the government study loan repayment scheme. SAIBT has a dedicated team of student support staff that provides a range of advice, information, personal support and counselling to students throughout their studies. Orientation SAIBT offers a comprehensive orientation program for all new students at the beginning of each trimester. Students are provided with valuable information to ensure they receive the best possible support and care while they are away from home. Personal support SAIBT offers free confidential counselling support to all students, helping them to overcome any academic, social or personal issues and difficulties. Academic support SAIBT students have free access to a large support network: Help desks Study support workshops Tertiary skills development program English language support services Lecturer consultations Individual advice with Academic Coordinator SAIBT Student Portal The portal contains important information for students such as course notes, timetables, results and unit outlines. Campus facilities SAIBT students have access to all facilities offered by the University of South Australia including sport and recreational facilities, libraries, bookshops, 24 hour computer laboratories and campus shops. Safety and security Security is provided on all campuses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Located around the campus are telephones for contacting Campus Security, who can arrange an escort to take students to their vehicle, taxi or other means of public transport, particularly on weekends or after dark. Events and activities There are numerous events organised by SAIBT and the University of South Australia for students throughout the year including barbecues, bushwalking, sport and social activities. Sports and Clubs There is a range of sporting and social clubs to join in Adelaide, which are a great way to develop a network of friends and become involved in the community. Job search support and volunteering SAIBT holds regular job search and interview skills workshops to assist students in building a resumé and finding part-time employment. Transition to the University of South Australia Each trimester SAIBT organises information sessions for students progressing from their SAIBT program to their degree at the University of South Australia. These sessions provide information about degrees, admission and enrolment procedures to ensure a successful transition to the University. The Global Experience program The Global Experience program allows students to enrich their studies and life experience by participating in student exchange programs. Students can choose to study up to one semester abroad and are eligible to apply for travel grants. Students transferring from another higher education provider will require a minimum GPA of 2.5 in their most recent program of study. Students who have completed Year 12 with an adjusted ATAR<50 or a raw ATAR<40 or no ATAR will be required to do one semester bridging program. The subjects will depend on results in the subjects studied in Year 12 and the specific subjects required for the Diploma. Students in these circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis. The Diploma of Information Technology introduces students to the broad range of skills required by the IT professional, providing the basis for specialised study in areas such as computing, information technology, multimedia and software engineering.
