With Power BI, we have had a more complete product to demonstrate, shortening the sales cycle and providing added value to customers. - Stig Karlson, Solution Architect at CRM Norge Situation Partner challenges A Microsoft Gold competency partner, CRM Norge has been providing Norwegian companies with Microsoft Dynamics and Office 365 solutions since They are also a Tier 1 partner in the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program, building managed services around Microsoft technologies. Prior to using Power BI, creating Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards for their customers was a laborintensive and costly task, which included error-prone manual exporting and hard-coded programming. They wanted to find a way to help their customers in the staffing and insurance industries get a clearer picture of their business metrics. Staffing industry gaps In the staffing industry, it is imperative to accurately track the hours contract employees work to increase accuracy of revenue from staffing placement. One of CRM Norge s customers, Amesto Top
2 2016 Temp AS, is one of the largest temporary staffing agencies in Norway. They have been using CRM Norge s Staffing and Recruitment Solution, a managed application built on top of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, successfully for years. Since Amesto Top Temp thrives from the commission they receive from placing temporary workers, they needed a better way to visualize this data to make better business decisions. Thee Chief Financial Officer would update a series of Excel spreadsheets once a month, but since most of the datasets were so large, it was difficult and time consuming to keep track of them. Updating reports so infrequently made it challenging for Amesto Top Temp to tell whether they were hitting their revenue goals, and often they would mistakenly target industries with lower margins and miss out on revenue opportunities. Claim handling industry gaps Another one of CRM Norge s customers is an insurance claim handling company comprised of approximately 50 agents. In order to maximize efficiency, they need visibility into how much time each claim handler takes on each case, what stage of processing he or she is involved in, and where the case usually gets blocked. This would show the agents where they are spending more time in comparison to other agents, and be able to easily explain why a closed case was declined or accepted. The agents have around cases at a time, some running from months even to years. The agents supervisors have no way of keeping track of each agent s performance, and have to involve IT every time they need certain information. Breakthrough solution As part of Microsoft s CSP program, CRM Norge packaged Power BI into their Microsoft Dynamics CRM Staffing and Recruitment Solution, completely transforming their offering. They have also added Office 365, Azure Active Directory, and Microsoft Intune into the solution. Now, Amesto Top Temp can use Power BI to extract timesheet data from the staffing solution in Dynamics CRM and analyze the revenue, track sick leave, and more. The solution is also able to assign and accept temporary workers, collect their timesheets, invoice, and distribute the salaries. The staffing agency is able to easily conduct their own analyses and recourse with the click of a button, they are able to conduct their own analysis to determine whether their revenue is on target and where the deficits, if any, originate.

With their newfound efficiency, the agents will be able to close their cases faster, reducing the overall cost of processing the claims and extensive time allocation. Benefits and impact Customer benefits With a better tool to analyze their data, Amesto Top Temp has been able to optimize their business and increase efficiency, growing their revenue and minimizing time spent updating spreadsheets. They are able to determine and target the most lucrative industries to staff. The claim handler customer is expected to have similar results optimizing the agents time and saving costs through shortening the claim processing duration.
