2 Hiwall, Hiross operation and maintenance solution ENERGY SAVING All the Hiwall units are available with the freecooling option which: provides considerable savings in electricity by exploiting low outdoor temperatures; limits the number of compressor starts and stops, thus reducing overall use of the unit. EMERGENCY OPERATION In the event of a power failure (230V), the Hiwall units can use an emergency d.c. power supply at 48V ensuring ventilation and, if required, freecooling. This means that it is not necessary to install other accessories (e.g. fans and additional control systems). EXTERNAL INSTALLATION COMPACT DESIGN The Hiwall units are particularly compact and easy to install and are fitted outside the container or telephone exchange to be conditioned. This means that the maintenance personnel can inspect the units without having to enter the room. CONTROL AND SUPERVISION The Hiross units are provided with Microface and Hiromatic, a microprocessor designed and produced by Hiross which constantly records all machine operation parameters and data with maximum precision; it can also be integrated in telecommunications network supervision systems.

The evaporation temperature control system guarantees start-up even when the internal temperature is high. The large-size condensing section is provided with fan speed modulation system which means that the unit operates even with low outdoor temperatures. Cooling with compressor Freecooling operation FREECOOLING The freecooling option is activated when the difference between the internal set and the outdoor air temperature is greater than 9 C (or the pre-set value). An internal damper provides for the intake of fresh air in order to reach the required cooling capacity. 6 EASY MAINTENANCE Due to its special configuration, Hiwall offers many advantages as regards maintenance: the majority of standard components (air filters, compressor, fans, electrical heaters and electrical panel) are connected at the front to facilitate servicing and maintenance work; the components are arranged in separate compartments so that operation can be checked with the unit running; fully plug&play: if repairs are with a new unit.
