11 Mobile Electric Power Distribution System - Replacement (MEPDIS-R) The power distribution system for the MEPDIS-R contains the necessary components for receiving 120/208 VAC, 3 Phase, 5 Wire power from the Mobile Electric Power family of generators ranging in output capacity from 30 Amps to 1200 Amps and delivering 120/208 VAC, 3 Phase power to end users. The MEPDIS-R consist of seven power distribution boxes housed in a weather resistant enclosure with main circuit breakers protecting the generator input and branch circuits. The system can be located and operated in field environments, can operate in extreme temperatures, is waterproof, corrosion resistant, safe and reliable. The MEPDIS-R system is designed to conform to the National Electrical Code for outside operation. 43 Glossary of Portable Cord Types Thermoset (rubber) material hardens or "sets" under direct application of heat (this is called curing), and once it sets, is not able to be resoftened by heating. Thermoset is a much more durable compound than thermoplastic. Thermoplastic (plastic) material softens when heated and becomes firm upon cooling. It is not as durable or as flexible as thermoset material, but is much lighter in weight and offers excellent low temperature resistance. Thermoset cords include the following types: SOOW (Service, Oil resistant jacket, Oil resistant insulation, Weather resistant): The toughest Thermoset portable cord available, this premium portable cord withstands the most demanding environments and temperature extremes. SOOW is oil, chemical, ozone and acid resistant and also resists tears, cuts and abrasions, and is completely water submersible and flame retardant.
