11 Global Supply Chain Conference Our Global Supply Chain Conference features nationally recognized speakers who address current critical supply chain issues, share their expertise and best practices, and give our business constituents new ideas to improve their bottom line. The conference is an opportunity for our students, faculty and business partners to get connected, exchange ideas, and have some fun. Each year, the conference focuses on a topic that is timely and relevant for supply chain leaders. 13 Academic Programs The SVCC works closely with faculty and our business partners to develop relevant curriculum that addresses the needs of the business community. Both the MBA and undergraduate programs provide a strategic and integrated view of supply chain management, coupled with hands-on, real-world learning experiences that help students develop important skills that ensure they are competitive. MBA students can complete a Certificate in Supply and Value Chain Management as a part of their curriculum. The Certificate requirements include 18 hours of supply chain coursework and an internship in the supply chain management field. Undergraduate students can pursue a major in supply and value chain management, which requires 21 hours of major coursework in addition to the core Supply Chain Concepts course. Specific courses include: Demand Forecasting Management Supply Chain Strategy Global Supply Chain Management Supply Chain Operations Management Logistics and Transportation Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Project Management Study Abroad Opportunities in locations Supply Chain Information Tools such as China, India, Panama, and Vietnam and Technology Experiential Learning Students have the opportunity to work with companies in a consulting capacity to address specific supply chain problems. MBA students have completed projects for organizations such as Alcon, Frito-Lay, Bell Helicopter, and Tarrant Area Food Bank. A small number of undergraduate seniors are selected to participate in the Student Executive Program, working within a company to gain cross-functional experience and supply chain mapping, analysis and problem-solving skills.
