19 Tuition, Fees, and Academic Calendar The University of La Verne is an independent, nonsectarian and nonprofit institution. The University tries to maintain low tuition in order to make higher education affordable to all potential students. The fee schedule for the academic year is as follows: Graduate Tuition: $720 per unit Application Fee: $50 Academic Services Fee: $30 per course Graduation Fee: $140 Deferred Payment*: $50 Late Registration Fee: $50 *Deferred Payment Plan Students can choose the deferred payment plan where 30 percent of the total charges, including fees, are due at the time of registration, with the remaining balance paid in two or three monthly installments during the term. Students whose employers have company reimbursed tuition benefits should contact their advisor for information on optional payment plans. There is a $50 fee for either of these two plans. Refer to the University s online catalog for a complete list of tuition, fees, and other financial matters: laverne.edu/catalog reserves the right to make necessary changes in policies, requirements, tuition, fees and calendars contained in this brochure at any time without prior written notice. Students admitted to a degree program at the University of La Verne may apply for financial aid. In addition, a number of College of Business research assistantships are available for MBA students. It is important to begin the application process for financial aid well in advance of the term in which a new student plans to enroll, as student loans may require two to three months to process. The College of Business & Public Management graduate business programs are offered according to a University of La Verne accelerated term system. There are five terms in each academic year (or calendar year): Fall, Fall II, Winter, Spring, and Summer. New students may start their studies at the beginning of any term ACADEMIC CALENDAR: MAIN CAMPUS TERM DATES Fall Term 2014 August 25 November 2 Fall II Term 2014** November 3 December 14 Winter Term 2015 January 5 March 15 Spring Term 2015 March 23 May 31 Summer Term 2015 June 8 August 16 Changes in Policy, Tuition and Fees The information provided reflects an accurate picture of the University of La Verne at the time of publication. The University ** Fall II is not eligible for financial aid. Classes meet two nights a week. No classes during Thanksgiving Week (November 24 November 30). The professors, small class sizes, and diverse student population have made my La Verne Experience very rewarding. Adriana Nevarez-Enriquez MSLM 15 Self-Employed Entrepreneur 18

20 La Verne Student / Alumni Activities My MBA prepared me for the challenges of conducting business across the U.S. and internationally. Rhonda Nelson MBA 91 Director, Global Manufacturing and Logistics Northrop Grumman Watch Rhonda s Video laverne.edu/mba There are numerous student and alumni organizations for business students, such as Students in Free Enterprise, the American Marketing Association, and the Society of Accountants. All students are encouraged to participate in these organizations. The University of La Verne has more than 20 clubs and organizations whose expressed purpose is to promote individual growth, school spirit, and co-curricular activities for the college community. Campus activities include music, drama, guest speakers, dances, intramural sports, dinners, parties, and a wide range of club sponsored events. Studying in Southern California Southern California is one of the most popular destinations for out-of-state and foreign students, offering an exceptional environment for work, study and recreation. The University of La Verne main campus provides an easy access to major California attractions. La Verne is only 30 miles away from Los Angeles/ Hollywood, 20 miles from Disneyland (Anaheim), and is close to the famous Southern California beaches, as well as to the local mountains for those who also may enjoy winter sports. Regional Campuses In addition to the main campus in La Verne, the University of La Verne offers graduate business programs at many regional campuses and additional locations throughout California. Students can take classes at any location where their program is offered. Regional Campuses include Burbank (San Fernando Valley), Irvine (Orange County), Oxnard (Ventura County), San Luis Obispo (Central Coast), Bakersfield (Kern County), Ontario (Inland Empire), and Victorville (High Desert). 19
