2 PARTNERING FOR YOUR SUCCESS The University of Baltimore and Towson University have joined forces to partner for your success. The UB/Towson MBA will encourage your intellectual exploration, help you apply theory to practice, and give you the skills and resources necessary to guide you toward your professional goals. When you graduate, you will join a dynamic alumni community of 40,000 business leaders from two vibrant and distinguished business schools. University of Baltimore The University of Baltimore is a career-oriented public university that specializes in knowledge that works. The University of Baltimore was founded in 1925 as a private coeducational institution. It became a public institution in 1975, and today is part of the University System of Maryland. UB s mission is clear: to provide outstanding educational programs for professionally oriented students. Today, nearly 5,000 students are enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs in the Merrick School of Business, the Yale Gordon College of Liberal Arts and the School of Law. More than half of the students work full or part-time. Their practical experience gives UB classes a unique quality. The Merrick School of Business has a long tradition of serving the business community. It has been delivering a quality MBA program since 1971 and today also offers Master of Science programs in accounting, finance, taxation and management information systems. The Merrick School received AACSB-International Accreditation in 1983 and enjoys an alumni network of over 25,000 successful business professionals. Towson University Founded in 1866 as Maryland s first school for training teachers, Towson University today is the state s secondlargest public university. Approximately 18,000 students are enrolled in more than 100 bachelor, master and doctoral degree programs in the liberal arts and sciences and applied professional fields. In 2006, U.S. News & World Report ranked Towson fifth in the Public Universities-Master s (North) category in its America s Best Colleges issue. Situated on a 328-acre suburban campus on the outskirts of Baltimore, Towson combines research-based learning with practical application. Its business programs are consistent with this approach. Towson first offered business and economics courses in the mid-1960s, and today the College of Business and Economics, with 2,700 majors, is the largest undergraduate business school in Maryland. Towson earned AACSB-International accreditation in business administration in 1992 and in accounting in The university s many interdisciplinary partnerships with public and private organizations provide students opportunities for research, internships, and employment. 1

3 LEVERAGE THE UB/TOWSON ADVANTAGE Do you want more from your career? The UB/Towson MBA offers you more. We offer more choices, more professors, more locations and more alumni. The UB/Towson MBA is designed to enhance the career of today s busy business professionals. Our MBA program offers many advantages not found in other Master of Business Administration programs. It is flexible and can be tailored for full-time or part-time study. It is the only regional AACSB-International accredited MBA program that offers the convenience of both on campus and online instruction. You will participate in a dynamic, collaborative learning process with classmates employed by the area s most prestigious organizations. You will also have networking opportunities with over 40,000 alumni. The MBA program provides individuals with the appropriate knowledge, professional competencies and skills to prepare them for meaningful career advancement and to contribute to their professional and lifelong learning needs. The MBA may be completed in as few as 33 credit hours and in one of 11 areas of specialization. Other benefits include: AACSB-International Accreditation You will be enrolled in not one, but two of the finest business schools in the region. Towson University and the University of Baltimore are both accredited by AACSB- International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), the premier accrediting organization for degree-granting business administration and accounting programs. It is the Gold Standard for business education; less than one third of all U.S. business schools can claim this distinction. Convenience and Flexibility We provide a flexible way for students to obtain an MBA while managing the realities of work, home and other commitments. You will have the flexibility to take your courses at both of our two campuses and online: UB s midtown campus, located in the heart of Baltimore s historic Mt. Vernon cultural district, is located just off I-83, and is a short walk from Baltimore s Penn train station. Towson s campus, located in suburban Towson, is easily accessible from both I-83 and the Baltimore Beltway (I-695). Online classes offer the ultimate in convenience and mobility. Take some of your classes online and some in the classroom. Online Learning The UB/Towson MBA offers the region s only AACSB- International accredited webmba, an innovative program offering convenient, high-quality distance education. You can learn anywhere, at any time. Dedicated Faculty You will have the benefit of being taught by experienced professors from two universities, not one, with strong credentials in their fields. Dedicated faculty members offer students a collaborative learning environment and an innovative, relevant, and quality curriculum providing real world learning inside and outside of the classroom. Enhanced Networking With over 35 years of experience in educating successful business professionals, you will have access to an alumni network of over 40,000 graduates, increasing your networking opportunities. Both institutions are known for their dynamic partnerships throughout the business community and the State of Maryland. 2
