4 BA CREATIVE INDUSTRIES PRACTICE: Content 4 Modules written by Cardonald staff and approved by UWS. These modules are unique to this CIP delivery and not offered on a UWS campus. Focus is on Graphic Design and visual language skills with an emphasis on research, critical thinking and the design process. Project based learning consisting of course work and studio assignments which enable students to further their skills in conceptual and creative Inquiry.

5 BA CREATIVE INDUSTRIES PRACTICE: Content Modules delivered by Cardonald : Graphic Information Design; Typographic Design; Editorial Design; Graphic Design. Modules delivered by UWS : RACI; Work Related Learning. Proposal for : Cardonald to fully deliver Work Related Learning which delivers a valuable Insight into the commercial world of design.

6 BA CREATIVE INDUSTRIES PRACTICE Collaboration with UWS has allowed Cardonald to further enhance it s reputation within the Design Industry; progressing on from the Advanced Diploma Award which was delivered from Entry at HND level allows an easy transition between College and University. Familiarity with the staff, facilities and environment means there is no lengthy settling in period and project work can start immediately.

7 BA CREATIVE INDUSTRIES PRACTICE Level 9 units have previously been delivered at Cardonald during the 14 years of Advanced Diploma. These units were approved and externally validated by SQA and the course subject to HMIe inspection. Degree delivery has prioritised the need for student self motivation whether in self initiated or tutor projects; Subjects are taught by a combination of group tutorials, regular individual tutorials, class critiques and providing a platform for feedback and discussion.

8 BA CREATIVE INDUSTRIES PRACTICE Cardonald staff have participated in UWS CPD sessions on UWS procedures and assessment process and attended subject panel boards and external examining sessions. In May the external examiner verbally endorsed the delivery of the Cardonald CIP Degree by commenting on the High quality of the student work presented for external verification, the quality of the module handbooks and the thoroughness of the marking schemes.

9 BA CREATIVE INDUSTRIES PRACTICE Effective communication between UWS and Cardonald staff and co-operation between both staff groups has ensured an equity of student experience; this has also allowed students the opportunity to articulate to the UWS honours programme. Staff at both institutions are therefore active in supporting student social co-ordination, facilitating student academic goals and developing effective communication skills crucial in the digital era we live in.
