3 Aims & Objectives Islamic International Engineering College has been established to: 02 Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences Produce competent engineers with the true spirit of dedication and professional ethics in conformity with the tenets of Islam. Act as a nursery for the provision of engineers for the developing countries. Establish a common platform for research, development and technical collaboration globally. Create facilities for postgraduate studies leading to the award of MSc/PhD degrees. He remained faculty member in electronics wing EME college from He again served as senior instructor in EME college (NUST) from He has undergone training in United States on the Electronic Material Management procedures / techniques.
4 Dr. Usman Zabit HoD - Electrical Engineering Dr. Usman Zabit did his PhD at the Laboratory of Optoelectronics for Embedded Systems, INPT, University of Toulouse, France in He did his Masters in Optoelectronics from INPT, France in 2006 and completed B.Sc. Electrical Engineering (with Honors) in 2001 from UET Taxila, Pakistan. After his PhD, he was awarded 3 year funding by French National Agency for Research to pursue Post-Doctoral research. 03 Undergradute Programs He is the recipient of Best Ph. D. Thesis Prize 2010 as well as Leopold Escande Thesis Prize by INP, Toulouse, France. He has also been awarded European Mechatronics Award and INP Innovation Award for his research works on Embedded Laser Sensors. His research has led to International Patents, published in France, 38 European Union Countries and USA. 6 Engr. Dr. Muhammad Shafique HoD Biomedical Engineering Engr. Dr. Muhammad Shafique, Head of Biomedical Engineering was awarded PhD Biomedical Engineering degree in 2011 by City University London. He received his MSc degree in Medical Electronics and Physics from Queen Mary University London in 2006 and B.S degree (received Gold Medal) in Biomedical Engineering from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology Karachi in He worked as a post-doctorate fellow at City University London in 2012 and served as a lecturer at the Electrical Engineering Dept. of Riphah International University, Islamabad from 2003 to During his PhD at City University London, he worked on novel techniques of photoplethysmography and pulse oximetry. He developed an optical sensor that enhanced the conventional technique of pulse oximetry to work more efficiently on patients suffering from low peripheral blood perfusion. His areas of interests are tissue optics, bio-instrumentation, digital electronics, and biosignal processing. He is a HEC approved supervisor and won several national and international awards during his academic and professional career. Dr. Shafique has also published and presented his research work in various international impact factor journals and conferences. 05 Riphah International University Dr. Anwar Ul Haq Professor (Chartered Engineer) Dr. Anwar ul Haq is an internationally known materials scientist. He has served Dr. A.Q. Khan Research Laboratories, Kahuta for 25 years as Director General of various Divisions. He has been Chairman PCSIR for five years. Presently he is Professor of Bio-Materials at Riphah International University, Islamabad. He has won several national prizes including Pakistan Academy of Sciences Gold Medal (1995), Gold Medal by Pakistan Vacuum Society (1999) and Dr. A.Q. Khan Gold Medal (2000). He has been awarded three civil awards: Sitara-e-Imtiaz (2001) by Government of Pakistan, President s award for Pride of Performance (1995) and Tamgha-e-Baqa (2001). He is Fellow of Pakistan academy of Sciences and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Italy. He is on the editorial Board of many national and International Journals. He was member of CIIT Board of Governors. He has been member of many national delegations and represented country in many international meetings. He has published 80 research papers in various ISI Journals with total impact factor of about 65 and over 350 citations. His current research interest is Brain Computer Interface for rehabilitation.

9 Graduate Programs MS Biomedical Engineering 08 Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME), Faculty of Engineering & Applied Sciences (FEAS), offers Master of Science in the following relevant biomedical specialization: MS in Biomedical Engineering (degree awarded to candidates with engineering qualification) MS in Biomedical Instrumentation and signal processing(degree awarded to candidates with non-engineering qualification) MS in Biomechanics (degree awarded to candidates with non-engineering qualification) Eligibility Criteria Minimum 16 years of formal Education. BS in relevant engineering field with a minimum GPA of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale. MSc Physics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Electronics, B.Tech. Honors and other equivalent qualifications. The MS in Biomedical Engineering program will follow the guidelines laid down by the Higher Education Commission and the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Therefore students with undergraduate Engineering degrees from a PEC approved program will be awarded Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering and the students with non-engineering degrees will be awarded Master of Science in Biomechanics or Master of Science in Biomedical Instrumentation and Signal Processing depending on the specialized stream that they choose. 10 Graduate Programs MS Electrical Engineering MS in Electrical Engineering at Riphah International University is a two year (four semesters) 30 credit hours program and requires completion of 24 credit hours of course work and 6 credit hours of thesis. Currently it is offered with the following three concentrations: Signal Processing Navigation and Control Telecommunication The course work in these concentrations provides the students with a solid theoretical and practical foundation to embark on research with myriads of applications in academia, industry, defense and healthcare. Each student enrolled in this program must also complete an independent study/thesis on topics related to relevant concentrations as suggested by the faculty member or proposed by external research and development organizations.
