2 Hey, congrats on choosing Marist! My name is Melanie and I m from West Hartford, CT. I m a senior (class of 2013!). I am majoring in History with minors in Global Studies and Business. I enjoy being active and playing sports. I have rowed for the Women s Crew team for the last three years. I am also the treasurer of the Black Student Union, and I work as a student assistant for the Offices of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions. I love to play the violin, and I am a member of the Marist Orchestra. This past spring, I studied abroad in the South of France. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I encourage everyone to try and study abroad. The best advice I could give is to get involved on campus and take advantage of as many opportunities as you can. It's the best way to meet new people and learn more about yourself! Greetings Red Foxes! My name is Mike and I m a junior. I m from a town called Franklin, MA. I m a Communications major with dual concentrations in Public Relations and Sports Communication, and a minor in Psychology. I m currently a member of Marist Ambassadors, MCTV, WMAR, LGSA, Contagious Care, Student Booster Club, several intramural sports, St. Jude s Up Til Dawn Committee and am a tour guide for Admissions. Lastly, I work in the Marist Athletics Department, where you can find me filming for athletic events on campus! The next four years are the best of your life. Start them off from day 1 by being who you truly are this is your chance to be the person you really are deep down inside. Every Marist student is in the position to be great, but it is up to us as individuals to take advantage of resources around us. As Joyce A. Myers once said, A number two pencil and a dream can take you anywhere.

3 Hey everyone and welcome to Marist! My name is Deanna and I am from Pequannock, NJ (Derek Jeter was born in my town!). I m a sophomore with a Biomedical Science Major. Marist is such a great place to get involved in and I am so happy to be a part of this wonderful community! I am currently a member of the Italian-American Club, Campus Ministry, the Phi Delta Epsilon International Medical Fraternity, and participate in the Emerging Leaders Program. I m an identical twin and I transferred to Marist for the spring 2012 semester. I came to Marist in the Spring 12 semester because I fell in love with the community and atmosphere when I would visit my sister. But the main reason why I transferred is because our twin telepathy didn t reach each other from the previous college I attended! My advice is to do what makes you happy. You are at a point in your life where there are so many great opportunities and you will meet so many wonderful people. Take a risk and try a new club, sport, or activity on campus you might enjoy. By going out of your comfort zone, you will learn a great deal about yourself and that s what college is all about! Hey future foxes! My name is Marissa and I am a junior from Colts Neck, New Jersey, which is right by the Jersey Shore. Here at Marist, I m a Fashion Merchandising major with minors in Business and Advertising. When I m not in class or with my friends, I do a lot of work with the Admissions Office, which includes being on the executive board for Marist Ambassadors and working as a tour guide and student assistant. Aside from that, I am also a part of Fashion Inc., Heart1, Dance Ensemble, and intramurals. So far, I have interned for Rebecca Taylor and CollegeFashionista.com. These were incredible opportunities, and I am proud to say that Marist has definitely prepared me for the real world. I m sure that this will hold true for when I head to London to intern and study abroad this fall! To quote the Broadway musical Wicked, my advice to you would be to trust your instincts, close your eyes, and leap. Be fearless and take advantage of everything that Marist has to offer. More importantly, be ready for the greatest four years of your life!

4 Welcome class of 2016! My name is Jess and I am from Harwinton, Connecticut. I am (unfortunately) a senior and am majoring in Public Relations and Spanish with a minor in Global Studies. I am involved in many clubs on campus including Marist Ambassadors, Circle K, The Public Relations Student Society of America, Communication Arts Society and Campus Ministry. I am also a tour guide on campus. Outside of campus, I really have a passion for theater and for the performing arts. Also I just got back from my semester abroad in Madrid, Spain. Una experiencia maravillosa! Marist is an awesome school with amazing opportunities. Get involved, study hard and dream big. No matter where you want to end up in life, Marist can help take you there! Welcome Class of 2016 and congratulations on selecting Marist College for your undergraduate studies! My name is John and I m from New City, NY, a suburb of New York City west of the Hudson River. I am a junior with a major in Psychology and Special Education (Elementary Education) and a minor in Music. At Marist, I m a member of Campus Ministry, Teachers of Tomorrow, Intramural Soccer, a Student Ambassador and the honorary musical fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi. I m also an active member of the Concert and Marching Bands, helping to stir up school spirit at football and basketball games. When I traveled with the band to Florida for the Women's NCAA Basketball Tournament, an ESPN reporter told me that the Marist Band is the most exciting band in the nation! At that moment I couldn t have been more proud to be a Red Fox. Be sure to experience as much as you can of the diverse opportunities available to you during the next four years. You won't regret them!

5 The best advice I can give to you new Red Foxes is to make sure you put yourself out there. Even though you are in a brand new environment and you might be scared I am sure there is someone out there Hello incoming freshman! My name is Alex and I m a sophomore. I am from Holmdel, New Jersey; about a two-hour ride from Marist. I am currently an undecided major, but I am considering choosing between either Biomed or International Business. At school I am on the Indoor and Outdoor Track Team, and am a part of Campus Ministry, FOX Paw and the Student Booster Club. I work at Marist Poll, and I also play intramural soccer and basketball. In my free time I love to read, watch Sports Center and play sports outside on campus. Before I started college, I was given a lot of different advice Enjoy it! It goes quickly and study hard and even don t leave! However, I really wish someone had told me this: if you re nervous about going to school, just remember that, Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore. -Andre Gide Ciao class of 2016! My name is Lindsay and I am a local student from Staatsburg, NY. I am a Criminal Justice major with a minor in Psychology. It is hard to believe, but I am a senior! I have just returned from studying abroad for a semester in Florence, Italy. Along with experiencing all of Italy, I got to travel to the French Riviera, Barcelona, London, and the Amalfi Coast. When I am not gallivanting around Europe I am involved in many clubs and activities here on Marist s Campus. During the fall, I m a manager for the Football Team. You can also see me on the field and court dancing with the Marist College Dance Team. I m also involved in the Ambassadors Program, Student Booster Club, MCCTA, Dance Ensemble, and I work as a tour guide. The best advice I can give to new Red Foxes is to make sure you put yourself out there. Even though you are in a brand new environment and you might be scared, there is someone out there feeling the exact same way. In the end, it s not the years in your life that count. It s the life in your years. Have a blast; this is the time of your life!

6 Hi everyone! My name is Danielle. I m a senior at Marist and I am from Bethpage, NY, a small town on Long Island. I am a Math Education major with minors in Psychology and Communication. On campus I am a member of the Ambassadors Program, Teachers of Tomorrow, the Dance Ensemble, Pi Mu Epsilon and numerous intramural sports including volleyball and Zumba. I also work as a tour guide and a student assistant in both the Admissions Office and the Student Affairs Office. And by the time you re reading this, I ll have completed a semester abroad in Florence, Italy! Enjoy every second of your time at Marist. If you allow it to be, these next four years will be the BEST four years of your life. It is impossible to describe how quickly time will pass. Remember how lucky you are every day. I d do anything to be in your shoes and be a freshman again! Get involved, be yourself and have fun! Welcome Class of 2016! My name is Cassandra and I am from Norwood, MA (even though we re in NY, I m a dedicated Boston Sports fan!). I am currently undecided and will be a sophomore this fall. If you re someone who likes to get involved and stay active, then Marist is the perfect college for you! As a freshman, I was active in the Ambassador Program, Circle K, Student Programming Council, and the Student Booster Club. I am also a board member of Campus Ministry and I participate in the Emerging Leaders Program. My friends and I also love to play intramural sports. As a freshman, everyone told me, You have the best four years ahead of you. They go by so fast, so take every opportunity you have and get involved, make new friends, and reach for your goals. I never truly understood them until now. Looking back, my first year at Marist flew by, and I cannot believe that I am a sophomore here. I took for granted this piece of advice, but now that I experienced my first year of college, I appreciate it and will hold on to these words for the remainder of my time here at Marist!

7 Hey guys! My name is Christina and I am from Carle Place, NY, which is most definitely one of the smallest towns on Long Island. I am a Psychology/Special Education (Elementary Education) major and I am a junior here at Marist. I am a member of the Marist Track and Field Team. I love running, I love competing, and I absolutely love my team! I am also involved in Campus Ministry, Emerging Leaders, Red Ink, and recently joined the Habitat for Humanity club. I like to hang out with my friends and family, watch sports, play sports, and just chill and listen to music. I just go with the flow. My Grandpa once told me, You re never going to get anywhere in life if you don t enjoy it. Ponder that. Seize every opportunity that presents itself to you. Work hard, have fun, and be open to new experiences and people. And one more thing: Never give up.
