Blood Testing Protocols / Page 2 Blood Testing Protocols Here are the specific test protocols recommend by Dr. J.E. Williams. You may request these from your doctor or visit to get contact information for specific labs. Disclaimer Standard laboratory reference values are based on population statistics for people who are generally healthy and with an absence of quantifiable disease. However, true health is not just the absence of disease but a state of optimal wellness. The information in this course and reference sheet is for educational purposes only. It is meant to as a guide towards health and does not replace the evaluation by and advice of a qualified licensed healthcare professional. For detailed interpretation of your blood tests, consult with your physician.

Blood Testing Protocols / Page 3 Essential Starter Panel - Standard CBC The Complete Blood Count with Differential and Platelets Chemistry/Metabolic Panel Measuring Your Homeostatic Markers and Organ Function Lipid Panel with LDL/HDL ratio Blood Type (ABO Grouping and Rho(D) Typing) Essential Starter Panel - Complete CBC The Complete Blood Count with Differential and Platelets Chemistry/Metabolic Panel Measuring Your Homeostatic Markers and Organ Function Lipid Panel with LDL/HDL ratio Blood Type (ABO Grouping and Rho(D) Typing) LDH Uric Acid Ferritin Homocysteine CRP (C-Reactive Protein), cardiac ESR (sedimentation rate) TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) Nutrient Panel Vitamin C Vitamin D3, 25-Hydroxy Vitamin B12 and Folates Iron, Serum RBC Magnesium RBC Folate

The Vegan Panel Blood Testing Protocols / Page 4 CBC The Complete Blood Count with Differential and Platelets: Used to detect anemia and infections. Chemistry/Metabolic Panel Measures your homeostatic markers including electrolytes and kidney and liver organ function. Lipid Panel with LDL/HDL ratio The basic cholesterol panel measures good and bad plus total cholesterol and triglycerides. Blood Type (ABO Grouping and Rho(D) Typing) LDH (Lactic Acid Dehydrogenas) Useful in screening for cancer; megaloblastic anemias, including pernicious anemia; mononucleosis; inflammation; hypothyroidism Ferritin Useful in the detection of prelatent iron deficiency. This value provides a reliable indication of exhaustion of the iron reserves that can be mobilized for hemoglobin synthesis. Homocysteine Provides information about inflammation, oxidative stress, and vitamin B12 and folate metabolism. Cardiac CRP (C-Reactive Protein) Gives information on inflammatory activity linked to heart disease. ESR (sedimentation rate) Tells the general level of inflammation in your body. TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) Evaluates thyroid function. Vitamin D3, 25-Hydroxy Establishes vitamin D level. Vitamin B12 Establishes vitamin B12 level. Iron Establishes total iron level. Pregnenolone Low levels indicate deficiency of the main precursor for steroid hormones. Methylmalonic Acid - Elevated levels of methylmalonic acid provide an early indication of cobalamin (B12) deficiency.

Thyroid Panel - Basic TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) T4, free T3, total (Triiodothyronine) Blood Testing Protocols / Page 5 Thyroid Panel - Comprehensive TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) T4, total (Thyroxine) T4, free T3, total (Triiodothyronine) T3, free T3, uptake The combination of the serum T4 and T3 uptake is an indirect assessment of thyroid binding hormone. It helps to determine whether an abnormal T4 value is due to thyroxine-binding globulin or to changes of thyroid hormone levels. T3, reverse Reverse T3 is derived from the conversion of thyroxin in the peripheral tissue and has minimal physiological activity. T3 levels are elevated in acute or chronic diseases due to changes in peripheral rates of conversion of T4 to T3 and reverse T3, i.e. Wilson s Syndrome Male Hormone Panel PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) Total & Free Testosterone Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) DHEA-Sulfate (DHEA-S) LH (Lutenizing Hormone)

Female Hormone Panel Blood Testing Protocols / Page 6 FSH and LH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone and Lutenizing Hormone) Estradiol (E2) Progesterone Testosterone, total DHEA-S Growth Hormone Panel IGF-1 (Insulin-like Growth Factor) IGFBP-3 (Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein) Adrenal Stress & Insulin Sensitivity Panel (Important Tests for Weight Loss) Cortisol DHEA-S Insulin Hemoglobin A1c (HbgA1c) Glucose, serum Salivary Cortisol Test 4 samples Salivary Adrenal Stress Analysis Cortisol DHEA-S

Blood Testing Protocols / Page 7 Fibromyalgia CBC and CHEMISTRY Comprehensive Thyroid Testing Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) Rheumatoid Factor (RF) ESR CRP Chronic Fatigue Syndrome CBC and CHEMISTRY Comprehensive Thyroid T and B-Lymphocyte Profile with Natural Killer Cells Epstein-Bar Virus Antibody Profile Other viral antibodies Bacterial antibodies (mycoplasma and toxoplasmosis) Lyme Disease studies CDSA Salivary Cortisol Analysis

Non-Blood Testing Protocols / Page 8 Gut Pathogens & Digestive Function Comprehensive Digestive & Stool Analysis (CDSA) - This test evaluates digestion, absorption, gut flora, and the colonic environment, and is indicated for all chronic GI problems, for acute bowel pattern changes, and for many systemic diseases. ( Genova Diagnostics offers a parasitology component with the CDSA 2.0 that evaluates for parasites using microscopic examination and EIA testing. The profile is indicated for all chronic GI problems, for acute bowel pattern changes, and for many systemic diseases and provides a sensitivity panel for treating pathogenic flora.) Minerals / Hair / Heavy Metals Hair analysis is the easiest and least expensive way. There are also blood and 24-hour urine tests. Urine metabolite tests.
