2 Digital requirements and naming convention Applications without a correctly formatted CD digital data disc or USB drive will not be accepted. These will be checked by Council before accepting the application All documents (including written documents) and plans for all applications must be submitted on CD or USB and not password protected. Each plan and each document must be single sided and must be submitted as a separate PDF file and named separately eg Application form, survey report. For unauthorised works elevation plans, floor plans, site plans etc. Signatures are not to be placed on supporting documents or plans ie Waste Management Plan, Statement of Environment Effects, floor plans, site plans etc Individual files for each application must not exceed 20 MB. Large files must be split into smaller size files. Standard documents are required under 400dpi resolution whether they are single pages or multipage documents and must not exceed 500MB in size. File names for the electronic file are to be titled using the naming convention outlined below and where possible in alphabetical order, naming each document and plan individually, including the application form: ie Document Type + Property Address and saved in PDF format. 5 Fees for Building Certificate Application Note: Pages 2-4 are not available for viewing on Council s website 9.3(1) For the purposes of section 149B(2) of the Act, the prescribed fee to accompany an application for a building certificate in relation to the whole or a part of a building is: (a) In the case of a Class 1a building (together with any Class 10a buildings on the site) or a Class 10a building $250 (for each dwelling contained in the building or in any other building on the allotment) (b) In the case of any other class of building as follows: Floor area of building or part Not exceeding 200 square metres Exceeding 200 square metres but Not exceeding 2000 square metres Exceeding 2000 square metres (c) In the case where the application relates to a part of a building and that part consists of an external wall only, or does not otherwise have a floor area Fee $250 $250 plus an additional 50 cents per square metre for each square metre over 200 $1,165 plus an additional 7.5 cents per square metre for each square metre over 2000 $250 (d) In the case of Unauthorised Works: Where the building to which the application relates has been completed within the past 24 months and the applicant for the certificate was responsible for the work, and the work was not authorised to be carried out under the EP& A Act Fee Standard fee + additional fee required for unauthorised works ie Maximum fee payable which is equivalent to the maximum fee if the application was for a combined development application / construction certificate application, or a complying development application (whichever is relevant), for the building or part of the building, the result of the unauthorised work (cl 260) Additional fee if more than one (1) inspection (2) If it is reasonably necessary to carry out more than one (1) inspection of the building, or part, before issuing a Building Certificate, the Council may require the payment of an additional fee (not exceeding $90) for the issue of the Certificate (3) In this clause, a reference to a Class 1a building includes a reference to a Class 2 building that comprises 2 dwellings only Fee for copy of Building Certificate (with owner s consent) 108 The prescribed fee for a certified copy of a document, map or plan referred to in section 149G(3) of the Act is $13.
