Mode: Press the mode button once to see which mode is currently active, press again while the display is flashing to cycle through the mode options: Quad-zone Mode: All four zones operate independently with high speed PID loops calculating current position based on each corresponding temperature sensor. This mode offers the highest degree of energy efficiency and control to the delivered airflow. Dual-zone Mode: zones 1&2, and Zones 3&4 are paired to a single PID loop each. Each pair operates off of the highest temperature reading between the two zones. This mode is ideal for installation beneath a DirectAire X2 or a shared Aisle design. Single-zone Mode: All four zones 1-4 are paired together into a single PID loop that operates off the highest value of all four sensors to determine a position. This is the most conservative control option. Auxiliary-C Mode or Client control mode: The unit will operate based upon the voltage applied to pins 3&4 on the Green Phoenix Connector. The following %Open Positions correspond to given input voltages: 0V:0%;2V:11% ; 4V:33%; 6V:56%; 8V:78%; 10V:100% Tel (410) of 26

17 Auxiliary-P Mode: This functions identically to Auxiliary-C mode Auxiliary-T mode or Technician Control Mode: The unit will operate based upon the highest temperature reading of all four sensors similarly to Single-zone mode, however the unit will remain at 0% Open unless a low voltage signal above 5v is supplied across the 3&4 pins on the Green Phoenix Connector. This mode is ideal for installation in Hot Aisle Containment with the control signal coming from a user input to activate when a user needs to work continuously in a hot aisle. Refer to SmartAire T on Tateinc.com for additional details and cost model information. REGIONAL UNIT CONVERSION 4. Unit conversion button ( C): Pressing this button once will convert the interface to Celsius. Pressing the button once more will convert the unit back into Fahrenheit. DISABLING UNOCCUPIED ZONES 5. Zone Disabling Buttons: Each button corresponds to a zone on the unit that can be disabled at the touch of the button, this causes the unit to move to the 0% Open position until pressed once again. The LED will remain lit to indicate that this zone is disabled until turned back on. This function is ideal in partially loaded racks, where the top airflow zones can be disabled to increase energy efficiency in the system. ADJUSTING THE SETPOINT 6. Set point Adjustment Buttons: Pressing the up(6) or down(7) buttons will cause the display to blink, this indicated you are adjusting the set point for the system, continuing to use these two button will increase or decrease the set point accordingly, wait 5 seconds for the set point to be set into memory. Holding down the set point buttons will allow the user to more quickly adjust the set point. Tel (410) of 26
