4 YOUR OPEN HOUSE EPERIENCE YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO ASK QUESTIONS, LOOK AROUND AND GET A FEEL FOR LIFE AT SAIT. These are some of the topic areas you re going to want to cover today: HOW WILL I PAY FOR MY EDUCATION? Ask about your options at the Finance Options booth at the Stan Grad Centre. Student Loans/Line of Credit Student loans are one of the most common ways to pay for school. When you apply, you are also automatically considered for other grants and bursaries (money you don t have to pay back). Start saving now, as government student loans only cover approximately 80% of your total school costs, leaving you responsible for the rest. To apply for a student loan, go to the Student Aid Alberta section of studentaid.alberta.ca. Your local bank may be able to provide a student line of credit or loan. Contact them directly to explore your options. Scholarships and Awards SAIT offers more than $4 million in awards to students. Awards are available based on a number of factors including: academic success, financial need, community involvement and more. Visit sait.ca and look for the student awards section. Skills Investment Program SAIT s Skills Investment Program (SIP) is a grantfunding program available to help you pay for your education. The funding typically covers the cost of tuition, fees and books, and may also provide a monthly living allowance. Additional funding options for students with disabilities Depending on your needs, there are several funding options available to you including student awards, grants and loans and lines of credit from your financial institution. Visit sait.ca for more information. For eligibility requirements and for more information contact SAIT s Accessibility Services at or accessibility.services@sait.ca. WHERE WILL I LIVE? Consider the on-campus SAIT residence and take a look for yourself. Tours through the residence run every 30 minutes during Open House, starting at the Residence booth in the Irene Lewis Atrium. Off-campus housing is another option to consider. The SAIT Students Association (SAITSA) offers listings for those interested in living off campus. Visit rentingspaces.ca or saitsa.info@sait.ca.
