I would like to welcome you to our municipality by inviting you free of charge to some of the cultural activities and leisure time events that we are so proud to have. It would be a pleasure for me to show you the municipality, so please participate in one of our three annual bus-tours. We will show you a selection of the cultural and historical peaks in the municipality, as well as some of our most extensive development-projects. At our website you can read about our various services. Here you will also find information about our office hours, and what to explore in your new municipality. The website also provides access to the digital self-service solutions where you, among other things, can: Notify the authorities of a change of address, chance doctor or register your child in day care. Kolding Libraries The library is a modern cultural centre a place to meet and study and a place where social networks can start or keep growing. Join the Winterbookscafé, the Crimebookclub or one of the others readers-clubs. Meet others with an interest for music, listen and talk about the music in the Listeners-clubs. Come to the cinema, the theater or maybe an exhibition together with the others in the Culture-clubs. Watch or ask at the library for information. Enjoy fun and exiting acitivities and a lot of room for playing. In addition to this Nicolai for children arranges concerts for families and childrens theater performances. 5 Welcome to the municipality of Kolding The Music venue "Godset" The regional music venue, Godset, won the title "Best Music Venue of the Year 2011". Godset is situated in the former freight terminal of Kolding. The purpose of creating this music venue is to promote rhythmical music and other cultural acitivities. In addition to this there are 12 practice rooms available for band and musicians. The association, Rock'In House is the biggest organizer of concerts at Godset and offers newcomers a family visit to a "SpotON-concert". Please write to clho@kolding.dk for information regarding the next "SpotON-concert" with free entrance. Dansk Sygeplejehistorisk Museum The Danish Nursing History Museum Experience the history of patients and nursing in Kolding in the past 100 years. See the authentic buildings and surroundings, where the museum is situated as part of Denmarks first Christmas Seal Sanatorium for children suffering from tuberculosis. You will see both Danish and international special exhibitions. Enjoy your lunch and the impressing view over Kolding Fjord in the café. The design store offers a large selection of unique gifts. You can also see tools and machines from households and trades which were connected to farming. Free admission for 2 persons From 1 st May through week 42: Wednesday Saturday 2-5 p.m. 2-5 p.m. The Castle Koldinghus Visit the city s old Royal castle that was built in the 13th century. The castle was burned down in 1808 but was award winningly restored in the 1980 s. Go explore the unique international special exhibitions or take a look at the country s largest collection of modern Danish silver. 8 Kolding Kommune By- og udviklingsforvaltningen Den Geografiske Have The Geographical Garden Enjoy thousands of roses, herbs, animal pens', bird s aviaries, the dangerous jungle paths and lots of other explorations in the 12 hectares botanical garden where the plants are divided by region of origin. Take a look at the impressing mini town, still growing to become the city of Kolding back in Have a picnic in the greenhouse all covered with beautiful camellias or in one of the inspirational gardens. Mungo Park Kolding Mungo Park Kolding is a repertory and ensemble theatre that produces 2-3 new performances every year. The theatre s own productions are Danish drama often inspired by the local area. Despite the own productions the theatre also presents a number of guest performances and other events such as debate meetings, conversation saloons and much more. The mayor will usually guide the bus-tour, but an officially errand can unfortunately prevent him. During the bus-tour there will only be one stop with the possibility to alight.
