In this short tutorial I wish to explain a very important feature of the Google Video Sitemap wp plugin (GVS), and that is the support of SEO Meta Packs with GVS.

2 In this short tutorial I wish to explain a very important feature of the Google Video Sitemap wp plugin (GVS), and that is the support of SEO Meta Packs with GVS. When you design a website, and want to tell the search engine what your website is about, there are two important meta tags: Title Tag, which is like this: <title>title tag</title> Description Tag, which is like this: <meta name="description" content="here is where description of your content goes> In the search engines, these two meta tags are shown here: T Title Tag D Description Tag U URL: Notice how the domain also has the keyword in it? :)

When you design a website, and want to tell the search engine what your website is about, there are two important meta tags: Title Tag, which is like

3 The question is, when you are making a posting or page, how do you put the title and meta tags for the search engines to see it. Well, inside wordpress, when you are making your posting or page, wordpress will by default put the title of your posting/page at the Title tag, and for your description, wordpress will take the first sentence normally of your posting content. But this strategy does not work very well. Wordpress developers and coders have brought to use two solutions. 1 SEO Packs Wordpress Plugins PHP developers have made wordpress plugins to help us control our Title and Description tags for our blog posts and pages. These plugins are called SEO Packs. For the purposes of GVS, there are three that GVS supports: All In One SEO Pack Platinum SEO Pack SEO Ultimate Pack When you install one of these plugins and active, it will add a number of fields that you can enter your meta tags for your posts and pages. Here is an example of the Platinum SEO Pack:

What this means, is that GVS will read the meta title and description entered into the SEO Pack fields to include on the Google Video Sitemap, and will be submitted to the search engines. 5 I cannot over state how important this is. Google Webmaster has told us the when it comes to Videos and Video Sitemaps, a Title and Description is REQUIRED. With the GVS wp plugin, we have coded it so that it will read the title and meta description taken from the three SEO packs mentioned above and put it on the video sitemap. Then, it will ping and submit your video sitemap to the search engines with your video title and description taken from the SEO pack. 2 Wordpress Theme SEO Pack Integration The benefit of premium wordpress themes is that they pretty much all come with a integrated SEO pack built right into the theme. No longer are you required to install an extra plugin seo pack. GVS plugin supports 2 premium themes that have seo pack integration. What this means is that when you fill out the seo pack fields using these 2 themes, GVS will pick up the title and description and put it on the Google Video Sitemap. GVS will then ping the video sitemap to the search engines with your video title and description taken from the SEO packs. How cool is that. :) No one has the video seo and technology that is now in your hands and on your sites. 1 First Support Theme That Has SEO Pack Integration Below is a screen shot taken when you create a new posting or page:

6 The first is Thesis Theme (my cloaked affiliate link) by DYIThemes, probably the most flexible and widely used premium themes..and one in which I use a lot. 2 Second Supported Theme That Has SEO Pack Integration This theme is probably the most powerful theme I have seen in a very long time. It not only has a SEO Pack integrated into the theme, but it also has a video player using Flow Player integrated into the theme. I am happy to tell you that GVS brings support to both the seo pack and video player of this theme. Below is a screen shot of the SEO Pack field when you make a page:
