2 Analyst Workbench The Portfolio Summary view provides the highest level summary of the application portfolio in the ARM repository. It provides a metrics summary by application in a graphical display. This view is presented when the tool is opened and is also accessible from the {dashboard} tab. 3 The Portfolio Complexity by Application view provides a tabular summary of the application-level Cyclomatic Complexity by component for each application. (The same detail is available for Lines of Code, Function Points and Technology Mix). ARM Version Dashboard Sample Screens 3

4 The Application Summary view for a given application provides a tabular / graphical summary of all the metrics that have been collected for the application. This view is accessible from the Portfolio Summary page (by clicking on the desired application) or from the {Metrics} tab. The show most complex components link provides a graphical summary of the application s complexity distribution and a listing of the top 20% most complex components. 5 The Portfolio Context Diagram available from the {Interfaces} drop-down provides a graphical display of all interapplication relationships. This diagram is generated dynamically and is based on the various underlying cross-application relationships, such as program-to-program calls, file/database sharing, file passing, use of common modules, etc. A click on any of the lines drills down into the details of the relationship between the two applications (see next slide). 6 From the Portfolio Context Diagram the user can drill down into the inter-application relationships between two applications. The resulting view lists all existing interface types and the number of instances of each between the two applications. For example, here we can see that there are 293 instances of a SIC program accessing a DBA IMS DBD. From this list, the user can further drill down into each specific interface type ARM Version Dashboard Sample Screens 6

7 A click on a relationship line drills down into the details of the relationship between the two applications. The Application Context Diagram available from the {Interfaces} drop-down provides a graphical display of inter-application relationships from the perspective of a single application. The diagram displays all «incoming» and «outgoing» references to/from the selected, subject application. ARM Version Dashboard Sample Screens 7

8 The Application References view available from the {Interfaces} drop-down provides a summary listing of all application relationship types, along with the number of instances, between the subject application and all other applications in the portfolio. 10 There are several reports, available from the {Reports} drop-down, that provide detailed information about a selected Application. The Duplicate Code Report available from the {Reports} drop-down provides a listing of the objects within an Application that are duplicated or have significant duplicated (cloned) content.
