They may be working at your school some day ACADEMICS The #1 reason you are going to college is to get a degree and career. How much will your son receive from FAFSA? 3. How much can your family contribute? 4. Will need to private loans to reach the balance? 6
7 HOW MANY FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIPS ARE THERE? In a 6 state area that recruit MN, there are approximately 1020 full athletic scholarships. However, each school brings in a freshman class of each year. Remember that schools have 5 classes on their roster each year. Senior, Junior, Soph, Freshman and Redshirts. SUMMER EVALUATION Select camps where coaches have made contact with you. DO NOT go to every camp in the 6 state area. NDSU, SDSU at the best for your $ as they invite many coaches from other schools to work their camp/evaluate. If you get an invite, attend if you like the school. Coaches want to see and meet you. Are you mature, do you hustle, are you competitive, are you a good teammate?? DIVISION III FOOTBALL The local MIAC and WIAC schools have great football and you don t need to be recruited to join their roster. D3 doesn t have athletic scholarships but does have many institutional scholarships based on ACT and other academics. Please be aware of the cost at some institutions if your main intent is football. 7
