3 Overview ROMEO is an on-line solution that manages ethics approvals and grant approvals, tracks project status, and facilitates smooth disbursements of funds. Logging in to the ROMEO Researcher Portal allows faculty, staff members and students to: Submit new REB applications; Track the status of new REB applications; View previously-submitted REB applications; Submit amendment forms and annual and final reports u The ROMEO DASHBOARD is the Researcher Portal s main interface, or home page. 4 Important reminders! ROMEO works best on Firefox and Internet Explorer web browsers (not Chrome or Safari). SAVE your applications frequently ROMEO does not have an automatic save function. OCAD UNIVERSITY 4

5 ACCESSING ROMEO The Romeo Researcher s Portal is accessible from the Login menu at or through: Note: Firefox and Internet Explorer are the recommended web browsers for the system. Use the proper browser to: prevent errors when saving, ensure all buttons and tabs appear, and prevent the loss of entered information. OCAD UNIVERSITY 5

6 Log-in or register First-time users will need to register with their OCADU and will be sent a confirmation to reset their password. Your username is your OCADU address OCAD UNIVERSITY 6

7 Log-in or register OCADU students, faculty, and staff should use their regular OCADU as their username and the primary address to which all notifications and letters of approval will be sent. OCADU students and external users logging in for the first time will need to complete the self-registration form that appears when Register is selected on the ROMEO log-in page before they can access the Researcher Portal. Once you have registered, you will receive an automatic notification via with instructions on how to set up your password. OCAD UNIVERSITY 7

Role: Principal Investigator (PI) Faculty Faculty advisors (accessing/submitting student applications, on the student s behalf) Staff Other individual researchers Role: Project Team Member Undergraduate students Graduate students OCAD UNIVERSITY 15

Applications (Submitted Requiring my Attention) Applications that have been submitted by the researcher, and have been sent back to the researcher, requiring resubmission for various reasons. 19 Additional information All team members will receive s regarding revision requests and approval letters. All team members may access and edit the event forms but only the PI can submit the form. OCAD UNIVERSITY 19
