What is Included in the Facilities Management Structure? People (the Team) Materials Policies Plans and Procedures Budget Our decisions about these elements will be determined by Mission, Infrastructure and Exostructure.
Key Terms Mission: What are we supposed to do (Goals and Objectives)? Who are we supposed to do it for (Clients/Stakeholders)? How are we going to be measured (Measures of value)? Infrastructure: The set of interconnected internal structural elements or systems that provide a framework supporting an entire structure or entity.
About Infrastructure Facility Manager should have had input to the Facility Design and Construction: Selection of Critical Systems based not just on Capex include Total Cost of Ownership Facility Design for Reliability Facility Design for Operability Does the Infrastructure support the Mission? And then there is the Exostructure.

Exostructure: Resources and Factors external to the Facility which support and/or constrain the Facilities Management Structure For our purposes, Exostructure Cloud
The Weather in Moscow is Frightful Where else could we build a data center???
The Desert Island Data Center A tropical island might be a nice place to build a data center, but would have challenges as well.
So Let s Create an Exostructure Scale On one end San Francisco On the other end our Desert Island And as we design our Facilities Management Structure (FMS), we will evaluate the Exostructure to make the best decisions on the various elements of our FMS.
