Box 578 Halifax, NS B3J 2S9 4 April 2016 Position: Online Math Tutor for Homework Support EECD is seeking to contract with qualified individuals for real-time online tutoring to Grade 10 mathematics students in English and/or French in May and June Tutors are required to have teacher certification in Nova Scotia. Preference will be given to recent experience in intermediate or senior mathematics instruction. It is imperative that applicants are competent and comfortable with technology. Key Elements: tutors will provide expert math homework help to students in grade 10 in a safe and secure online chat environment unilingual and bilingual tutors are required tutors will develop conceptual understanding with students the tutors are available from Sunday to Thursday during May and up to June exams during the hours of 4:00pm to 9:00pm AST all tutors are required to work a minimum of 5 hours per week selection interview and training will take place in person, over the phone and via the Internet tutors will work from home during scheduled shifts as designated by Homework Hub coordinator Applicants to provide online tutoring must have: Nova Scotia teacher s license must be familiar with the current Nova Scotia mathematics curriculum minimum 2 years of experience teaching mathematics education in mathematics e.g. BA or BSc in Mathematics able to utilize a variety of teaching/learning strategies online to meet student needs understanding of individual student strengths and abilities and how to address these to support mathematics understanding comfortable and efficient while working online Tutors must have a high speed wired internet connection and use of a computer with a current operating system during their scheduled shift Strong and effective communication, questioning and coaching skills very strong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking) in English and/or French High comfort level with online chat environments Tutoring experience and online teaching an asset Preference will be given to those applicants who: Have demonstrated experience in teaching in an online or blended learning environment

Therefore, 5.1 cm and 9.3 cm get added together to make the angle of 14.4.
