Another exciting year in the stock market and in the Phoenix Chapter! We have had so many good changes in the Chapter this past year and are looking forward to many more in the coming year. Check out the website as we add to the services and education we offer to our members. Our dedicated chapter directors are constantly reevaluating our curriculum and revising it to meet the needs of our community. If you have wanted to do something for the larger good, consider becoming a member of our board of directors. As any volunteer will tell you, the rewards of volunteering are many. Please contact one of our directors if you have questions, or would like advice or guidance in your club. Natalie Murphy

Phoenix Area Model Investment Club The Phoenix Area Model Investment Club (PAMIC) is a functioning investment club which is open to visitors. Each month the club holds a regular meeting where partners cope with all the same problems that your own club might face or be facing. The club is made up of Phoenix Chapter members and valley residents. You are invited to watch an actual investment club in progress and learn BetterInvesting techniques for your own club or personal use. Currently, there are 15 partners and they rotate out of the club after 18 months. When their terms are over they are encouraged to start their own BetterInvesting Investment Club with friends, neighbors, family, fellow workers, church members, etc. The club recently has been purchasing stocks and is now on the road to building a portfolio. Stock study teams allow partners to study together and present companies to the club on a rotating basis. A portion of the meeting focuses on education each month. Subjects may include an overview of Valueline or quarterly reviews of sales, earnings and pre-tax profit. Each of these will help determine when to buy, when to sell and when to hold. If you are thinking about starting a club, if your club has questions about operation or record keeping, or if you just want to watch how another club operates, please plan to visit the Model Club. You may decide you want to join us. When: Third Thursday of each month (except for holidays) Where: University of Phoenix 2550 West Union Hills (just off I-17) Phoenix, AZ. 3 The Inve$tor$ Race This Race began November 10, 2007 at our Annual Investor s Education Fair and the drawing will be at our Annual Education Fair October 25, 2008 Many of you have attended several events throughout the year so you have several chances to win this year s magnificent prize! What is it? The Inve$tor$ Race is a competition in which the winning individual will receive a LAPTOP COMPUTER! Each person who attends a Phoenix Chapter event will receive an entry form for The Inve$tor$ Race. Eligible events are any events that are sponsored by the BetterInvesting Phoenix Chapter. Eligible contestants are people who have attended the various events.* When you attend one of these events, you will receive one entry form per event; multiple entries are permitted throughout the year, but only one entry per person from each event. The more events that you attend throughout the year, the more chances you have to win. During the race you will gain education and information, as well as an opportunity to meet other investors. The race will end each year at the last event sponsored by the Phoenix Chapter before the Annual Meeting Event. The drawing will be held at that event to determine the winner. The winner must be present to win. Date for the drawing will be posted on our website. The next race will begin at this year s Annual Education Fair, October 25, That means that everyone that attends the fair will have an entry into next year s race The race will end each year before our Annual Education Fair. *Chapter Directors are not eligible Members please note Address changes cannot be handled by the Chapter. Box 220 Royal Oak, Michigan Or (877) President s Day 2008 If you attended our President s Day last March, you already know what a success it was. The room was packed, Gary Ball was dynamic, everyone left feeling motivated and ready to move their clubs forward. In fact, we are planning to get a larger room for next year s event. It was indeed a Breakfast with Champions and the Phoenix Chapter wants to commend all the officers in our investments clubs for the hard work that you do and the commitment that you all have. Nineteen of the clubs brought their club portfolio to be reviewed. We formed a committee and we have been working very hard on accomplishing this task. About half the clubs have been visited already with the report and some are scheduled for this fall. It has certainly been a fun little journey, and is giving us a chance to meet some of the clubs in the valley. We gave out CD s full of information about clubs and investing. I hope that all of you have had a chance to review the CD with your club. This event was truly enjoyed by the chapter members and we are looking forward to doing another one in Watch for details as they develop about Club President s Day Lunch with Champions March 28, 2009 We are working on the details so watch our website Is your club receiving club mailings through your club contact?
