Stevens College of Technology has the statistics to back it up, including a 95 percent job placement rate following graduation. Some Stevens graduates who have been out of school for four to five years are making more than $100, Today, there is a tremendous need for a Technical Training Center to double the Machine Tool and Computer-Aided Manufacturing and Metals Fabrication & Welding Technology programs at Stevens. Intended uses for the grant, are: Develop three new programs: Electromechanical, metal casting technology and welding technology. Expand three existing programs: Machine technology and computer manufacturing, metal fabrication and welding, and heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration. Partner with the Lancaster County Workforce Investment Board and PA CareerLink in offering more educational opportunities to adults who have lost their jobs due to outsourcing or foreign competition, military veterans and the unemployed.
