4 1 INTRODUCTION Thank you for choosing UOB Kay Hian Hong Kong trading system, which offers you a hassle-free online trading experience with its reliable features and tools to assist you in capitalising market opportunities. Giving you 24 hours access to HKEX from the comfort of your home or overseas, you can also access our extensive research publications at your fingertips. Before attempting to login to the online trading system, please take note of the following: 1.1 System Requirements The minimum recommended system requirements for trading with us online are: A Pentium III 500 MHz or above SGVA monitor configured to 1024 * 768 resolutions with 256 colors or more 512 MB of RAM or above 56 kbps modem or more Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista Internet Explorer 5.5 or above with JavaScript enabled Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or above (for Mac users) The following software should be installed: - An Internet browser capable of supporting Java and Javascripts (Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and above) Adobe Acrobat Reader As content on our website and system is constantly updated, we recommend that you adjust your browser cache settings to check for newer versions of stored pages upon every visit to a page. 1.2 Customer Service For enquiries and online trading assistance, please contact our Client Services Department at Hong Kong: (852) or clientservices@uobkayhian.com Singapore: (65) or cs@uobkayhian.com 4

6 3 LOGIN To log into UOBKH Internet Trading System, click on the login button on the top right hand corner of our homepage. You will be directed to the login page as shown below. For security purposes, you will be prompted to change your password upon your first login. The password is case sensitive. It must be alphanumeric and between 6 to 12 characters. 6

7 4 MY PAGE For your convenience, there will be one customised page created for you by default. Please note that customisable pages are only available to Internet Explorer users. 4.1 Add Customised Page You have the ability to create up to 3 customised pages with all the applications and features to suit your trading needs. 1 Click on the Add Page icon located on the top right hand corner of the page. It will prompt an Add Page window. 1 2 Click Add after you have entered the Page Description and selected the page format. 7

8 4.2 Add Pagelets to Customised Page After you have created your customised page, you can add features to your page. These features are called pagelets. You may add up to 6 pagelets per page. 1 2 Click on the Add Pagelet icon. A list of available pagelets will be displayed. Click and hold the pagelet you wish to add, then drag the pagelet onto the main page Save Customised Page Click on the Save Page icon after making any changes to your new customised page. 4.4 Edit Customised Page Click on the Customise Page icon to make changes to your customised page settings. This will prompt a popup window. You can change the page and/or the column settings. 8

9 You can also change the column settings depending on your personal preference. The maximum width for the page must add up to 100%. For example, if 1 column is selected, enter 100. If 2 columns are selected, you can select the following settings: 70/30, 60/40 or 50/50, etc. 4.5 Edit Pagelets You can make changes to your pagelet settings such as the colour settings and column layout. Click on the first icon at the top right corner of the pagelet you wish to edit. Click on the type of text you want to change. You can customise the font colour as well as the background colour. 9

10 Depending on the pagelet type, you can add and/or remove entries in the columns. 4.6 Remove Customised Page To remove a customised page, click the Remove Page icon. 10

11 5 PRICES PAGELETS 5.1 Top 20 Apart from the Teletext screen, you can obtain stock data by adding the Top 20 pagelet to your customised page. Alphabetical listing of stocks View the Top 20 Volume, Top Gainer, Top Loser, Top % Gainer & Top % Loser Search for the stock by entering the first few characters of the stock 5.2 Watchlist Our Watchlist pagelet provides a quick retrieval on quotes for your favourite stocks. You can create up to 5 Watchlists (maximum 30 stocks on each watchlist). Select the Watchlist from the dropdown menu. 11

12 5.3 Edit Watchlist To edit your watchlist, click on Edit beside the Watchlist dropdown menu. From the Edit Watchlist Page below, you will be able to customise the watchlist name as well as add and delete stocks in the watchlist. Do remember to click on Save to save the settings. 12

13 6 TELETEXT 6.1 Teletext The Teletext page allows you to obtain stock information such as price, market depth and intraday chart Time & Sales Market Depth Broker Queue You can also place orders and access market news in the Teletext page. 13

14 6.2 Advanced Search To search for the stock using the Advanced Search function. Enter the first few characters of the stock A list of results matching your search criteria will be listed. 14

15 7 WARRANTS The Warrants page allows you to view the Top 20 warrants by gains, losses, turnover and volume. Search for the warrant by entering the first few characters of the warrant. 15

16 8 TRADE You may submit an order anytime of the day. Orders submitted during trading hours will be sent to the exchanges on queue for order execution. You may place overnight orders from 4.15pm onwards, and they will be sent to the exchanges the next trading day. 8.1 Place Order There are three ways you can place an order. You can either key in your order in the Teletext page, go to the Place Order page under the Trade tab or click on the stock name in a price pagelet. The maximum quantity is 3,000 lots. For orders of more than 3,000 lots, you can split your order into several orders of smaller quantity. However, please enter the total number of shares, and not lots, in this field. Orders that are not done by end of the trading day will expire automatically. They will NOT be carried forward to the next trading day. 16

17 9 ORDER BOOK Keep track of your orders with our Order Book page under the Trade tab. View your orders placed for the day, up to 3 days ago and also a history of all your trades done. You can also withdraw up to 10 orders simultaneously with our Quick Withdrawal function. Please note that partially filled orders will be displayed under Filled during trading hours. However, after partially filled orders are amended, they will be filtered to Pending. After trading hours, all partially filled orders, whether cancelled or expired, will appear under Filled. Nonetheless, all orders will appear under All. 9.1 Check Order Status The descriptions for the status field can be found in Status Legend. 17

18 You can click on Details buttons to view additional details of each order. 9.2 Amend Orders Click on the Amend button to amend your order. The amendment screen will appear. Note: Prices can be amended upwards or downwards. Quantity can only be amended downwards. 18

19 9.3 Withdraw Orders Check the relevant boxes for orders you wish to withdraw Click on the Submit button to withdraw your orders For your convenience, you can withdraw up to 10 orders at a time. A withdrawal request does not mean the order has been successfully withdrawn. Please check the Order Book for confirmation. Please note that order amendments and withdrawals can only be done for shares that have not yet been filled. If the order was partially filled, only the unfilled quantity can be amended or withdrawn. 19

20 10 STOCK ALERT 10.1 Add Stock Alert To create a stock alert, go to the Stock Alert page under the Trade tab Edit/Delete Stock Alert The Alert List shows stock alerts that you have created and allows you to edit and delete the stock alerts. Do remember to click on Save to save the settings. Stock alerts that have been triggered will not be re-sent. Please update the alert to reactivate it. 20

21 11 PORTFOLIO Portfolio allows you to keep track of your account balance and stock holdings Account Balance In this page, you will be able to access real-time updates of your account balance. All accepted orders will be automatically deducted from your account balance Current Holdings Your stock holdings are updated in real-time in the Current Holdings page. You will also be able to export this information into an Excel spreadsheet for your safekeeping. 21

22 11.3 Statement Access your daily and monthly statements here (Hong Kong clients only). 22

23 12 USER ID AND PASSWORD You will be able to change your user ID and password for logging in under User ID and Password. It is advisable that you change your password periodically. The password must be alphanumeric and between 6 and 12 characters. Do note that it is case sensitive. For security reasons, you will be prompted to change your password every 300 days. (Clients will not be able to reuse any of their last three passwords) 23

24 13 PREFERENCES To enhance your online trading experience, you can define your preferences for alert configurations, type of price mode and default trading account Alert Configuration You can view the type of alerts you are entitled to and configure the alerts Set Price Mode The price mode will determine whether data are on a push or pull basis. The streaming mode pushes prices to you automatically. The snapshot mode uses a pull technology where prices are updated when you can click the Refresh button. Clients who may have difficulty accessing streaming prices due to network issues are advised to select the snapshot mode. 24

25 13.3 Set Trading Account For clients with multiple trading accounts, you can select your preferred account as the default account for trading online. 25
