Since each sensor has different power requirements and dedicated circuitry, sensor probes can be attached only to certain sockets (named A - F in the figure). There is a sensors table in all the models explaining all the possible connections between sensor probes and sockets. It is designed to be buried in parking spaces and to detect the arrival and departure of vehicles with an electromagnetic field sensor. It includes a PVC casing rated at IK10 for mechanical impact protection and at IP67 for ingress protection. The use of PVC ensures that radio communication is not hindered. Smartphone Detection for Traffic Congestion and pedestrian counting This application is performed with Meshlium and it is the only one that does not allow to attach any sensor. Meshlium can detect any Smartphone in the area by measuring WiFi and Bluetooth activity. This way, pedestrian and traffic congestion can be determined in real time. Meshlium is also the Internet Gateway for Waspmote Plug & Sense! It is possible to combine these two features (scanning and internet gateway) within the same machine. With a good C++ programming level, you can explore multiple possibilities with its Open Source API, 400+ online code examples and documentation. Since it has no enclosure, you can try all kind of different hardware combinations, it is more handy to work with it at your lab table and you can use that extra money in getting more sensors and communication modules.
