(Berndt-Ulrich Scholz) The global demand for steel and non-ferrous metal scrap is unabated. However, natural resources are being depleted to a noticeable degree. At the same time, prices for the extraction and transport of primary raw materials are skyrocketing. Furthermore, manufacturing processes consume vast amounts of energy as well. Recycling is counteracting these trends. Available materials are returned to the economic cycle as superior quality, pure, sorted secondary input materials this saves resources and is environmentally sound. Leading electric furnace steel producers rely on recycled steel scrap. Today, over 50 percent of manufactured steel is made from scrap. This saves about 600 million tons of coking coal, some 200 million tons of iron ore, and around 130 million tonnes of CO2 per year. This percentage brings the sector very near the forecast made by Berndt-Ulrich Scholz that one day all steel will be made from scrap. Recycling for the sake of the environment.

3 Our core activity is the complete recycling of scrap steel and metal. We use the most advanced technology, such as shredder systems, shearing and baling ma chines. Our customer profile ranges from large industrial manufacturers to individual customers. We have branches located in all parts of the country, which enables us to collect large amounts of scrap at the local level. Our fleet of trucks provides transfer services from collecting the scrap to delivering the recycled material. In order to ease road traffic, we prefer transport by rail or watercraft, whenever possible. This ensures the smooth flow of material. In addition to recycling scrap iron, we also recycle alloy steels and non-ferrous metals of all grades and types. Thus, our customers profit from the advantages of our complete disposal concepts. High-capacity recycling systems sort materials down to a grain size of two millimeters. In addition, our performance portfolio comprises demolition, gutting and dismantling. If there is anything to recycle, we are the ones to do it. We have observed the recycling processes present in nature. Nature knows neither of raw materials nor of disposal problems. Nature is the perfect closed-loop cycle system. Recycling is the fundamental principle. We base our business on this fact. 4 Regional Division East The Regional Division East of Scholz Recycling AG & Co. KG comprises about 60 storage and processing centers for steel scrap and all kind of metals. The sites in Brandenburg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia each utilize nearly the entire range of processing facilities. These include the most ad vanced shredder systems, scrap shears, rail breakers, baling presses, cable stripping systems, drop works, car presses and chip briquette presses. Our processing centers are specialized in the production of steel mill products and foundry scrap. Blanket coverage of all types of nonferrous metal scrap and alloyed steel scrap is also provided by the Regional Division East. In total, 250 trucks and 3,000 containers guarantee of an efficient logistics system of transport by road and rail. The Lauchhammer branch is one of our largest sites for the handling and treatment of scrap metal in Germany. 5 and makes deliveries to metallurgical plants and stainless steel mills throughout the world. Modern equipment for processing and analysis provide data for objective assessment of the recycling process at every stage. This ensures a uniformly high level of quality of all recycled raw materials for our customers. The Espenhain branch is the most complex processing site of Scholz Recycling AG & Co. KG. This facility south of Leipzig is equipped with virtually the full range of scrap recycling technology. The processing plants for light-density and heavy-density shredder fractions at the location of SRW metalfloat GmbH, a 100-percent subsidiary of Scholz Recycling AG & Co. KG, are unrivalled throughout Germany. The two branches located at the Elbe River ports of Dresden and Magdeburg focus on the environmentally friendly transport of recycled materials by river barge and also ideally suited for the scrapping of ships. Our Erfurt branch comprises 16 companies and provides virtually all types of recycling services. In addition to presses, shears and shredders, the Thuringian branch also utilizes cable stripping machines and chip briquette presses. Dresden

6 Regional Division South The Regional Division South of Scholz Recycling AG & Co. KG is composed of eight branches which stand out due to their exceptional size. All recycling centers in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg are equipped with the most modern loading and processing plants. Presses, shredders, shears, and drop works ensure fast and customer-oriented recycling of materials. Due to their favorable geographic location, these branches are able to supply all steel works, metallurgic plants, and as foundries in the region with recycled raw materials. 7 Essingen is the headquarter of Scholz Recycling AG & Co. KG. This branch, in addition to traditional treatment systems, employs a chip briquette press and an aluminum shredder system. The branch at Dingolfing has been collaborating as a scrapping partner of BMW for over 20 years. At this site, we have collected, sorted and recycled the recy clable materials of this automobile manufacturer since 2007, utilizing a 11,000-square-meter hall. The branch at Schwäbisch Gmünd, which operates a baling press for scrap sheet, is another long-term partner of the automotive industry in southern Germany. The Fichtenberg branch is characterized by its capacity of recycling metal chips and abrasive slurry, which can be briquetted on high-capacity machines, in addition to processing conventional scrap materials. During the last few years, our Weissenhorn branch has become one of the leading scrap suppliers to foundries in southern Germany, and this trend continues. Our branch in Fürth is one of the largest non-ferrous scrap centers of Scholz Recycling AG & Co. KG. This site employs a briquette press and cable stripping machine nearly the complete range of machines for nonferrous metal scrap treatment. 8 Regional Division West In the Regional Division West, we are currently operating three recycling centers in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Dortmund and Velbert in North-Rhine Westphalia. Since the recycling of valuable raw materials will continue to gain importance, we are promoting the continuous growth of our Regional Division West. Our intention is to set up more branches and sites here in the future to provide blanket coverage in the region. A dense network of many small suppliers and collection points ensures the recycling of materials. A wealth of technical know-how regarding the recycling of non-ferrous scrap and alloyed steel scrap has been gained in the area between the rivers Rhine and Ruhr during the last three decades. Having access to innovative recycling methods, our personnel serve as reliable partners of our customers in the region. Recently, the special alloys division has been added to our performance portfolio. The branch Mülheim an der Ruhr predominantly processes alloyed scrap. Our laboratory, which is equipped with highly sensitive equipment for spectral analysis, enables us to examine all metal alloys regarding their composition. This is of particular significance since we supply alloyed scrap to many foundries. We operate a detinning plant that is almost unrivalled in Germany, where we have the capacity to recycle tinplate. 9 tem for packing materials was also established here in Our branches in Velbert and Dortmund are specialized in the non-ferrous metal trade. The Velbert branch enjoys the use of 13,000 square meters of storage area, 5,000 of which are roofed over. Thus, the conditions at this site are optimal for processing valuable metals. Additionally, processing units such as shears, presses and a system for recycling aluminum bottle caps are employed at this location. Velbert

10 SRW metalfloat GmbH Patented recycling system for shredder residue which is unique in Europe SRW metalfloat GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of Scholz Recycling AG & Co. KG, located in Espenhain and Nuremberg, was established in Espenhain in the year This firm is the investor and operator of shredder residue recycling plants, which are unrivalled in Germany and Europe. This is the timely response of the Scholz Group to the stricter EU Directive concerning the End-of-Life-Vehicle Ordinance and the prohibition of the disposal of untreated waste which has been in force in Germany since mid The new statutory regulations specifically oblige the operators of shredder systems to address the nonmetal components after the treatment of light-density and heavy-density shredders fractions. 11 The new, state-of-the-art plants for the shredder light-density and heavy-density fractions ensure that the recycling quota which the EU Directive prescribed for 2015 has already been reached today, utilizing the recycling concept of Scholz Recycling AG & Co. KG at the Espenhain site. Thus, it is ensured that all metals are sorted out. Non-metals are processed to plastic or substitute fuel products. The plant in Espenhain has taken the Scholz Group one step nearer to its target: 100% utilization of all re cyclable materials. This target also has absolute priority for all other sites and facilities of Scholz Recycling AG & Co. KG within all regions of Germany.
