12 Selfenergy Mozambique Perspectives Mozambique has a great potential of energy resources still to be exploited, especially with regard to Natural Gas, Hydro, Coal and Wood as Fuel. The renewable energy in Mozambique is comprised by a large spectrum of sources, namely: Biomass energy, incluiding biofuels; Solar energy; Hydropower; Wind energy; Ocean energy; Geothermal energy. The country has huge potential for the development of RE that can meet the energy needs of populations, settling on one hand the supply of electricity in rural areas and secondly, by providing additional fuel options.
13 Selfenergy - Off Grid - Fundo de Energia (Energy Fund) FUNAE is a public institution, created in 1997, under subordination of the Ministry of Energy, with the mandate to promote rural electrification using renewable energy. Their funds came through international donnors and national budget Types of systems: 1. Mini Grids; 2. Stand Alone; 3. Portable Energy Solar Lighting; 4. Pumping systems. Beneficiares: - Health centers; Schools, Clinics, Markets, Farmers
14 Selfenergy - Off Grid - Solutions against poverty instead solutions for the poor! 75% of rural African families spend up to 50% of their disposable income on kerosene New model based on Productive Use of Energy Sustainable Development in Rural Africa: Electricity, Water, Communications and Services Focus in: - Priority for business solutions; - Establish na entrepeunerial culture; - Close the financial gap with local money; - Communities Management with ONG support; - Assure Maintennance (RTUs), - Pre-paid systems;
