1 NEW CEILING MODULE DS-W1 WAVE : SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER CAPACITY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY With the groundbreaking new heating and cooling module DS-W1 Wave, compared to conventional radiant solutions, the heating and cooling capacities can be increased up to 250%, respectively by more than 80%. Radiant Ceiling & Hybrid Systems
2 PIONEERING TECHNOLOGY Conventional solutions such as forced air, chilled beams or even the proven extruded profile systems often reach their performance limits in thermally challenging areas. Exceptionally high heating and cooling loads, a poor free cooling operation, insufficient energy and cost efficiency, a significant maintenance or an unfavorable design have always resulted in that radiant ceiling modules could not be used in office buildings. The patent-pending technology of the radiant heating and cooling modules DS-W1 Wave eliminates these disadvantages: Due to the new geometry and larger total area of the modules their thermal power density is increased massively, so now significantly less ceiling area must be occupied for heating and cooling of the rooms. Thus, the need for investment falls sharply. In addition, the different aesthetic design versions with minimum space requirement can be perfectly integrated into modern architectural concepts. Maximum efficiency The particularly high potential for cooling and heating capacity is achieved by the DS-W1 Wave modules without forced convection. The heat exchange with the space significantly is achieved via radiation and free convection; this with a high degree of thermal comfort. In heating mode, the radiant effect of DS-W1 Wave modules allows to define a 2K lower design room temperature still achieving the same high level of comfort and well-being: Instead of previous conventional heating systems requiring 20 C the room design temperature can be set at 18 C, while achieving the same comfort as the conventional systems at 20 C. In addition, the excellent performance characteristics of DS-W1 Wave modules allows an optimal, energy-efficient free cooling operation and a significantly increased spectrum of operational outdoor temperatures. 2 Installation options Free Hanging (pictured above) or integrated in false ceiling (Page 3). Wide range of applications Functionality, performance and energy efficiency as well as the relatively low investment required make the heating and cooling modules DS-W1 Wave an optimal solution for office buildings (especially with extensive glazing), schools, theaters and opera houses, museums or production buildings with high required cooling and / or heating loads.
3 In cooling mode, the DS-W1 Wave modules at a temperature difference of Δt = 8 K achieve a capacity from 190 to 220 W/m² projected area. In the heating operation at Δt = 15 K around 330 W/m² can be achieved. The specific slot arrangement causes, at the top of the profile, a high induction of the circulating air. The total secondary airflow is increased, and the Δt to the space is decreased. By adding profiles or by changing the length of the profiles the capacity of the individual modules can be customized to project specific needs. Ceiling module DS-W1 Wave are availabe with different slot configurations and in any colour (except metallic). Regarding the energy consumption, there is virtually no other system for heating and cooling of indoor space able to work so efficiently, resulting in low energy costs. Aesthetic Benefits The optically very appealing DS-W1 Wave modules are available in three different slot configurations: fully slotted, partially slotted and non slotted. Apart from the aesthetic aspect, the slots increase the convection and thus additionally increase the capacity. The DS-W1 Wave modules are also suitable for partial immersion in a reflective ceiling, as well as installation in niches in a false ceiling, wherefore about 15 cm distance from the profile is required. Immense performance increase DS-W1 Wave Conventional Radiant Systems Operating mode Cooling Δt 8 Heating Δt 15 Cooling Δt 8 Heating Δt 15 Interior Space Capacity per Module (W) Capacity Active Area (W/m 2 ) DS-W1 Wave Exceeds performance by +78 % +257 % Fassade Area Capacity per Module (W) Capacity Active Area (W/m 2 ) DS-W1 Wave Exceeds performance by +81 % +145 % The performance data is based on: L = 2500, W = 1040 mm L = 2500, W = 1065 mm 3
