Working within a small team, you will help to provide a tailored CBT based residential treatment programme to our residents. Applicants need experience in a therapeutic environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must have the ability to support a caseload of residents and ideally have 12 months or more experience of working in a residential environment. 2 Job Description JOB TITLE: HOURS: LOCATION: REPORTS TO: Residential Treatment Centre Gambling Therapist - Beckenham 35 hours per week Gordon Moody Association Beckenham Beckenham Residential Centre Manager OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: To provide, as a member of a team, effective delivery of the Gordon Moody Association s Residential Programme in a way that enables clients to overcome their addiction to gambling and move forward to independent living. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To provide appropriate advice and support to assist residents to address their gambling problems and achieve their goals in line with the Gordon Moody treatment Programme To work with residents both one-to-one and in groups using various CBT based techniques, to support them with their gambling addiction. To assist new residents to settle in, including the preparation of their room, provide them with useful local information and, in respect of such persons, to complete the Gordon Moody induction procedures To assist and ensure residents are registered with local facilities such as GPs, Housing Departments, etc. and are claiming appropriate welfare benefits. To help residents identify their own goals such as future housing, employment, debt reduction, alternative leisure pursuits, personal needs etc. To help residents develop budgeting and other household and survival skills

3 To assist and encourage residents to deal with problems in the house either as individuals or at house meetings To assist as appropriate and necessary, with the resettlement process To carry out the centre's administration functions, such as correspondence, monitoring, report writing, data capture and maintaining our Apricot database. To use and monitor petty cash within budgets and in accordance with Gordon Moody procedures To collect, bank and record income, in accordance with Gordon Moody procedures. To deal as directed with non payments of rent, including attending Court hearings if necessary. Person Specification Essential: CBT Training and or relevant qualification. Organisation skills, inc assessment and support planning Communication skills, to include both written and verbal reports Experience of Facilitating group work Direct experience of working in a therapeutic environment ideally with addiction. Attention to detail Educated to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Negotiation, advocacy and advice skills Ability in handling crisis situations Ability to work as part of a team Desirable: Experience in working in a hostel/residential or similar type environment. Knowledge and experience of working with benefits agencies. Psychology (or similar) qualification 19/10/15 RC
