1 OBJECTIVES : Master of Science Program in Technology Management M.S. (Technology Management) The purpose of the program is to develop graduates who has the abilities to manage technology effectively and efficiently. They will be capable of managing organizations under the fast pace of changes. The program is also encouraged students to realize their full potential and their responsibilities to the society. ADMISSION : 1. Applicants must have obtained a Bachelor s Degree in any field (except applicants who select the major of Engineering Management must possess a bachelor s degree in Engineering, Science or Technology) from accredited university or institution. 2. Applicants must take the Thammasat University Graduate English Test (TU-GET) and the general mathematics test (similar to GMAT). 3. Candidates who have completed the required examination will be allowed for the interview. ACADEMIC SYSTEM : The Master s Degree program in Technology Management is organized on the semester system undertaken during evening or weekend hours. Having completed all courses required in the curriculum and earned the G.P.A. of not less than Having received P in the comprehensive examination. 3. Remedial Courses COURSE DESCRIPTION TT501 Principles of Economics for Technology Management Non-credit A study of principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics in order to analyze the consumer behavior, decision-making in production, price determining, benefit maximization under different market structures, including the important economic factors such as monetary and fiscal policies, unemployment, inflation, foreign exchange rate, trade policies, and the international economic integration that have impact upon decision-making to run business effectively. TT502 Principles of Engineering and Technology for Management Non-credit A study of principles of engineering implemented for organization management emphasizing on the engineering management processes; Operation Research, Production Efficiency Measurement and Statistical Method for Management Analysis. Core Courses TT610 Principles of Technology Management A study of management of technology; the technology life cycle, the process to attain technological innovation, technological & business strategies, technology forecasting and planning, technology transfer, technology utilization and the roles of technology to create competitive advantages for the organizations and the nation.

4 TT611 Technology Economics A study of the concept of Economics in terms of demand & supply in technology as a production factor. Studying the market equilibrium of technology, factors which determine demand and supply both in industry and production sectors, the technological policy determined and implemented organizationally and nationally, the study of technology history that is important to the change of human society, and the trends of technology development at present and in the future. TT612 Finances and Accounting for Technology Management A study of principles and methods of using financial and accounting data, managing assets / liability / capital, the assessment financial worth, the application of financial principles and methods as a tool to assess the worth of technology, the financial planning to support technology management, controlling and assessment of technology. TT613 Human Resource and Organization for Technology Management Studying basic theories of human behavior in organizations, components of an organization, organization management, the technological impacts upon humans & organizations, the organizational adjustment to the change of technology and to create technological potential in order to meet a short-term and a long-term objectives. TT614 Research Method and Quantitative Analysis for Management A study of research methodology and statistical analysis to solve business problem including decision-making under dynamic situations. Several statistical methods such as probability, index number, analysis of regression and time series will be implemented as tools for analyzing, interpreting and forecasting business. TT710 Marketing for Technology Management A study of philosophy and concepts of marketing, analysis of business environment involving with marketing strategies and policies related to Products, Price, Place (Distribution channels) and Promotion. Also studying of marketing analysis, planning, and managing the implementation of those plans. Enabling students to apply their knowledge of marketing and technology management. TT711 Technology Project Management A study of the project management focusing on the successful technology projects, techniques contributed to the success such as Project Management Organization, Team Building, Project Feasibility, Project Planning, Budgeting, Technology Procurement, Project Control and Project Close-out. Required Elective Courses TT725 Decision Analysis and Problem Solving A study of problem-solving processes using principles and analytical methods of measurement, calculation, control and assessment systems to enable students to increase their potential and abilities in managerial decision-making. TT735 Telecommunication Laws and Policies A study of laws and regulations related to telecommunications and technology information in Thailand, law of patent and copyright including the government policies in telecommunications and technology information, restrictions and impacts upon the telecommunications proceeding and technology information. TT736 Corporate Finance and Investment for Technology Management A study of the support systems for projects of business and government sectors, financial theories related to budgeting and financial structuring. Also study of Venture Capital Fund, dividend management,

5 mergers and takeovers, financial instrument, financial risk management, financial tools, portfolio emphasizing on the real cases in the industrial sector. TT745 Quality Management A study of the importance of quality management components affecting businesses at present and in the future. Emphasis on the developing quality management systems in organizations such as ISO 9000, Total Quality management (TQM), the technological application for quality development, the implementation of statistics for quality control. TT746 Environmental Management A study of the development of environmental management systems for the sustainable development of business organizations and the implementation of environmental management in organizations. The course content will cover Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Management Standards of ISO 14000, and Environmental Management Laws. TT747 Manufacturing Management A study of production and service environments with emphasis on production management and the duties of production managers for the most effective management of raw materials. The course content will cover production management, system analysis, planning; inspecting and controlling production; applications of computer technology in production design, and related laws such as labor laws, etc. TT755 Energy Management A study of importance and components of energy technology management organizationally and nationally, development of energy technology, the relation of economic growth and energy consumption, the selection and the analysis of energy consumption in different industries, policies and practices to economize energy for energy technology development in the future. TT765 Computer Technology for Management and Engineering A study of the implementation of computer in management. The course content covers planning, systemization, operational process, the selection, the performance assessment of computer system together with managerial system involved. Besides it covers the concept of changes and development of computer technology and the effective and efficient adjustment to those changes. Students will be trained in some basic skills of computer use. TT766 Information Technology Management A study of the relation between information technology and business environment, an increase of competitive potential by application of information technology. The course includes managing the development of an IT strategy, analyzing IT investment, the IT impacts on the organization and IT implementing strategy. TT767 Internet and Electronic Commerce A study of the internet operation system, multimedia system, , web page management, e- commerce running strategy. The course covers planning, organizing, personnel administration, finance and marketing with emphasis on real case studies in cyber market. TT775 Research & Development Management A study of strategic roles & research conducting strategy, development of technology management, the general management in business organizations in order to develop innovation of products and services. An emphasis on marketing plan before R&D, creating cabability of human resource and organizations, the management of knowledge and intellectual properties, quality assessment, compensation of R&D and the connections with the public research systems. Students will learn by analyzing case studies and illustrations domestically and abroad such as small business, large enterprises and international corporations.

6 TT776 Operations Research in Engineering and Management A study of operational research methodology and analysis of decision-making in Engineering & Management. The application is interpreted by Linear Programming and Goal Programming Problem Formulations, Mathematical Models, Simplex Algorithm & Multiple Objective Linear Optimization, including other kinds of operational research methodology such as Queuing Models, etc. TT777 Productivity Analysis A study of techniques of productivity analysis, its application, case studies concerning with engineering and management. The content covers Benchmarking, Process and Production Analysis, Parametric Productivity Analysis and Non-Parametric Productivity Analysis. TT778 Expert System in Engineering and Management A study of thinking process of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Expert System (ES) to solve problems in engineering and management. The course covers the components of Expert System (ES), method design, Heuristic principles, Basic Logic Programming involving with problem learning and reasoning to solve those problems. TT779 Management of Innovation and Technology A study of the importance of technological development in business organizations and economy. The course covers innovative process, systematic planning, management of technology and innovation of research & development (R&D), seeking innovated technology transfer from abroad and technology alliances, managing organizations and developing human resource through the use of technology, analysis of technology demand, determining strategy to generate technological efficiency, analyzing the research project feasibility and the project of technology investment. TT785 Telecommunication Principles A study of principles of telecommunications, technical-based concept, languages used as the sound and data communications, the connection of telecommunications and information technology, trend of telecommunication industry, management of organization with emphasis on engineering management processes such as Operation Research and Statistical Method for Management Analysis. TT786 Telecommunication Innovations A study of the changing of telecommunications and information technology, the impacts upon business in globalization, business re-structuring by telecommunication network, management of changes in order to achieve the objectives and the goals of the organization using the trend analyses and strategic plans by implementing technology as a factor and a tool in the competitive world. Free Elective Courses TT795 Seminar in Technology Management The course is designed to encourage students to integrate, to analyze, to share individual knowledge of all courses learned by seminar presentation. Students will be encouraged students to practice the problem analysis together with their telecommunication experience. TT796 Special Topics in Technology Management A study of specifically interesting topics on Technology Management. Research Study TT791 Research Study 6 credits In order to evaluate the potential of Plan B students who have theoretically and practically studied all the prescribed courses, each student is required to conduct a research by applying theories and practical experience to the selected case study. Plan B students must outline their own proposed researches for the

7 approval from the research committee before proceeding their works until finishing an oral presentation and defense. Required Courses For Graduation TT790 Seminar in Ethics for Executive The seminar is to encourage students to realize the concept of ethical business practices focusing on the management and business development with the social and environmental concerns, human rights, the executives responsibility standard development, Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, Value System in organizations, Good Governance and several types of activities enabling students to solve problems by themselves and preparing them to be ethically responsible for society. TT792 Seminar in Strategic Management of Technology The seminar concentrates on organizational strategies, environmental analysis, weaknesses and strengths of organizations, the application of integrated knowledge and technology management in terms of marketing management, financial management, human resource management and organization management by applying technology to increase competitiveness of an organization order to be harmonious and supportable one another.
