1 Conference overview Programme at a Glance The RVK08/MMWP08 conference will open at on Monday afternoon, 9 June, The opening ceremony, thematic presentations and keynotes will take place in room Linné, in the main building (H) of Växjö University. - Registration The registration will be opened from on Monday morning, 9 June, just outside the Linné room. During the rest of the week there will be a late registration and information desk opened every day in the main building (K) of Växjö University. - Opening Ceremony The opening ceremony will take place at on Monday afternoon, 9 June, in the Linné room. The RVK08/MMWP08 conference will be opened by Kristina Alsér, County Governor of Kronoberg, and Johan Sterte, vice-chancellor of Växjö University. - Thematic presentations Monday afternoon, 9 June, : The thematic invited speakers will give an overview of Swedish Top-technology and Excellence Centres in Radio Science and Communications. For more information see the complete programme. - Reception A reception will take place on Monday night A buffet will be served in the Resturant Kristina right next to the Linné room and there will be time to mingel. One glass of wine or beer will be included, but there will also be a bar available if you want to buy more. Companions may pay for the buffet at the registration. - Lunches Lunches are included in the conference fee and will be served Tuesday - Friday at You will have a buffet with salads and bread and a main course. Tuesday- Wednesday the lunch will be served in the M-building. Thursday-Friday the lunch will be served on the balcony in the K-building. - Keynotes Tuesday morning, 10 June, in the Linné room: A few distinguished key-note speakers will give interesting overviews on their own topics of speciality with a relation to Mathematical Modelling of Wave Phenomena, as well as to Radio Science and Communications. - Invited contributions, technical and scientific sessions Tuesday afternoon, 10 June, at 13.00, until Friday afternoon, 13 June: A number of invited speakers will give scientific presentations to initiate some of the technical and scientific sessions. - After-work For you who do not feel like going back to your hotel between the sessions on Tuesday afternoon and the Conference dinner there will be an open bar , in the same resturant as the Reception, Resturant Kristina. 1
2 - Conference Banquet A conference Banquet will be arranged on Tuesday night starting at in the M-building of Växjö University. A three course meal will be served and there will be some live music and a speech or two. Per Eriksson, director-general of Vinnova, has been invited as a special guest and will be the main speaker at the dinner. One glass of wine or beer will be included in the dinner, but there will also be a bar available if you want to buy more. Companions may pay for the Banquet at the registration. - Steamship excursion A steamship excursion will be arranged on Wednesday night. The steamship Thor will take us from Kronoberg castle to Nykulla where the BBQ is waiting. Information about time and transportation will be posted at the conference. The trip is free of charge, food and drinks are included, but you have to register in advance. Please note that this is an outdoor activity and that warm and casual clothing is recommended. - Exhibition An exhibition will take place on tuesday-wednesday, June, in the main galleria just outside the lecture rooms. The following companies and organizations will exhibit: SAAB, WRAP, FOI, Anritsu and CST-Computer Simulation Technology. - Transportations Växjö University Campus is located in the south in a suburb named Teleborg. There are three bus lines (1,5,7) having a regular service from central Växjö to and from the University Campus area. Bus number 7 stops right next to the main building (H) of Växjö University. - Wireless Internet Access - Guest Accounts Guest accounts for wireless internet access will be available for all participants. See the separate paper in the folder for more information about the university guidelines and login-information. - Times and Places The following time-schedule applies for all the invited, technical and scientific sessions.
