2 TOKALYNGA FLYING THEATRE FESTIVAL 6-8 AUGUST 2010 Teater Albatross is proud to present a high-flying festival! We have invited theaters from near and far with performances that touched us. The result is a high quality festival with amazing performances and an open-minded atmosphere - where the sky is the limit! We have taken a number of smaller performances to Tokalynga Theatre Academy. Small theatrical pearls, that has disappeared in the media noise - art that affects, or at least affected us! This we mix with music, conversations around the fire, movies, stimulating socializing and good food. From early Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, day and night. As a festival participant you live with the artists in and around Tokalynga Theatre Academy during the festival - we believe that a unique community in this way can emerge! The festival will be held in both Swedish and English. Several of the Swedish performances will be performed in English. All performances will be adjusted for an English audience. FEATURED ARTISTS Subject to changes Ntarindwa Diogene Atome (RW) IDENTITY CARD Rwandas most popular actor Ntarindwa ATOME Diogene was a kidsoldier in Patriotic Front of Rwanda during the genocide in Rwanda ATOME gives us a a comical performance about his life, which has received alot of international attention, e.g. in global press such as Le Monde. Teater InterAkt (SE) SONGS FROM THE SILENT VOICE A current and critically acclaimed show about mental care and to be a human in need of help. Nina Norén, who has written the text, suffered an acute mental crisis a few years ago. This theater gem came out as a result of her crisis. Grotowski Institute (PL) - FILM & TALK Mietek and Stefa are legendary collaborators with the late Jerzy Grotowski, Poland s theater icon. To hear Mietek talk about his acting work with Grotowski is touching. Stefa is despite her age, one of Poland s leading theater producers - she knows everything! Teatr NN (PL) STORIES FROM THE GATE Teatr NN is Poland s leading jew-polish theater. They are doing great work in the Lublin area. They will tell, among other things, an Isaac Singer-story with music and poetry. They will also talk about their amazing history.

3 Theaterlabor (DE) FRAGMENT One of Germany s most influential free theaters will perform pieces of, and show films from, various performances. They will also talk about their theater. The group has a background in Teatro Nucleo. Teater Albatross (SE) The Africa trilogy that has been very well received - both by the press and audiences: BORTOM HAVET About a fishing village in Cameroon, international justice and the UN. Has been played for both children, people from the World Bank and the fisherie commissioners in the EU. A wonderful play, totally unique MARY KINGSLEY An amazing story about an explorer who was far ahead of her time and defied the prevailing norms and stereotypes. Very popular in Congo (DRC). Artistically perfect KONGO A gripping and tragic-comic tale of Congo s amazing and dramatic history. Fantastic imagery. Incomparable Aktör & Vänner (SE) THE TRUE STORY OF BENGT ERIK OLSSONS SISTA KONSERT A performance on the borderline between dream and reality. We are invited to take part of a pianist s anxiety, excitement, hatred and love for his instrument. A piano, a piano stool and four hundred tonne theatrical brilliance - nummer.se RAUDRA-ÅSA A raging, dance-explosive drama in one act about letting out the rage wihtin us; to confront it and to find the courage to do this. The energy of anger does not have to lead to destructive violence, but kan just as well be used to change the world. The hyperventilation alone is worth the ticket price - GP Teater Kapija (SE) JAKTGEVÄRET Three different women write to the same man. Their letters are about the love triangle drama that has been ongoing for 13 years. Same story is told three times, but the testimonies differs. Who s telling the truth? Perhaps all three of them, but from different perspectives? Rangeelay Theatre Ensamble (IN) in collaboration with Bananteatern (SE) RAGULABUGGLA What do you mean passport not valid? My country exists! With the help of clown, music, storytelling and other performing arts, the actor Rupesh Tillu takes the audience on a journey through a world in transition - A futuristic fable based on a true story!

4 Isildur Bane (SE) LIVE MUSIC Halland s pride, with a sound somewhere between Zappa and art-music, participates with their unpredictable music! Håkan Sjöström & Niss Jörgensen (SE & DK) MUSIC THAT OPENS THE SKY They met in Copenhagen and are now playing sitar and harmonica together. The unusual collaboration gives, by the spur of the moment, birth to sounds that truly opens the sky! Anna Ottertun (SE) HASIOR CONCERTO NO. 2 An existential concert in the spirit of Wladyslaw Hasior - which is held in the corridor inhabited by his sculptures. This vital intestine in Tokalyngas innermost parts are filled with cosychilling musical poetry. Talk about theatre IS THEATRE DEAD? LONG LIVE THEATRE! A conversation about Swedish theatre as of today, between the audience and four prominents in theatre: Jesper de Neergaard - Danish theatre profile, who has gone from the institutional theatre world to working with performance artists from all over the world. Artistic Director at Entréscenen in Aarhus, DK. Svante Grogarn - Originally a member of Teater Albatross. Working as theatre director, lighting designer, tutoring, film maker and writer. Björn Gunnarsson - Varberg-based, nationally known theatre and literature critic. Maria Ericson - Legendary in Swedish theatre, one of the founders of the Swedish theatre group Scheherazade.
